Save up forever for a crown of eyes. Get shit all over.
OK. You lost 20ex, 30ex, 40ex on a crown of eyes. There's two things you can do about it.
1. You can complain in the forums and give up. OR 2. You can try a different build, get some MF going, acquire loot normally, and be all stocked up with things that might go legacy by the time Act 4 rolls around in February/March 2015 without spending your life savings. Apex of sacrifice slaughtered my first and best character. Instead of simply giving up, I made a few more homegrown builds, selected the best, focused on it, and killed Atziri solo without any snapshot metrics. It was frustrating at first needing to invest time and currency on another character, but ultimately, it was fun, and I ended up with a better, much less squishy character and another fallback in case one of my characters gets hit by the nerf hammer. Avoid gambling your life savings on items every super OP person is using, and carve your own path. Winning takes patience, and it's much, much more fun when you do it with your hand calculator and a blank passive tree to start. IGN: Fiona_Falconstrike, Geldar_the_Barbarian, Natalie_Fellshadow

" The nerf impacts the "more" modifiers. Example using 1K damage with 100% increased damage: Total Dmg = (1K + 1K * 1.00) = 2K damage Example using 1K damage with 100% increased damage and 30% from PA: Total Dmg = (1K + 1K * 1.00) * 1.3 = 2.6K damage As you can see, the multiplicative damage can add up quickly. Resistance factors in as multiplicative, as does RF and PA and critical weakness ("more" extra damage from critical strikes). RF would be an additional ~50% more damage, which would mean multiplying 2.6K * 1.5 = 3.9K damage. So, the RF PA person is now only dealing 2K damage instead of 3.9K damage with a 1K hit. " Ah I see. I didn't know so I didn't necessarily bank of those added multipliers - but good to know even though I'm a bit late to that party now. I was planning a CoC build that only focused on those spell damage passives where both your phis dps and all your chained spells get beefed up. That should still make for some darn good combined dps. Thanks! ✰CARD✰ The Survivalist
I can’t buy any more big supporter packs because the forum only supports showing 7 legacy tags. |

You speculated on CoE becoming legacy. You lost. Deal with it.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

I seriously don't understand how anyone can focus on using only the most overpowered items/builds and starts complaining/whining when stuff is brought back in line a bit.
Is this the new generations of players that derived from wow? I strongly believe so. What about build variety? Should the endgame be forever = get shavs + coe and you are double - tripple as strong as anyone else and therefore everything is worthless compared to this? Should get everything as tremendiously op as this combination is? So that we all just run around 1 shotting screens of monsters blindly while watching tv no matter which map or difficulty level? What about the majority of people who invested into completely useless life and ci gear (compared to this low-life setup)? Should it all stay as useless as it is to keep your coe/shavs combination as op as it is? Let me give you an example from the past: In command & conquer you just had to build like 50 mammoth tanks, amove them to the enemy while going afk and then click on victory button when coming back. Now do you wan't the game to get actually balanced and challenging which requires nerfs of mammoth tanks or do you just want every unit to become this mammoth tank that you can amove and go afk with? I guess while ppl like me avoided mammoth tanks at all in the given example to get some challenge/fun in the game, the new generation of gamers focus themselves on perfecting to build mammoth tanks, call it skill what they do, call others whiners who complain about the bad state of balance and then start heavy whining when they think that their toy is being taken away while it probably still creates the strongest shit and just the gap to the rest is being reduced. | |

" This Post Wins. IGN: Victory_Or_Sovngarde
It's not a 13 week development cycle, it's a 13 week supporter-pack cycle. You can play any build you want, as long as it's the current meta. |

" Yep. Fully supports my statements of the past about Legacy items. Why bother fixing an issue if there are two sides of the coin with their respective appeal? People will cry either way? Well then just go the path of least resources spend. GGG did. Legacy items are a design choice and this case here is one of the possibly becoming numerous exceptions. I imagine they could have made CoE legacy aswell but the way they handle it now is just easier to implement. |

I cant find a post abouth whats changed. so where's the nerf? i dont get it. all i can read is "were chaning the game mechanic blabla"
so are you removing spelldamage from the game? |

" Crown of Eyes' exclusive mod will no longer apply to multiplicative spell damage modifier, which it is "frequently" used for in combination with RF and PA. It does however still apply additive spell damage modifier to your attack damage, which makes it still strong for some builds. |
