Build of the Week Season 2 Episode 10: Snapshotting
"We will be removing snapshotting from the game at the start of the next challenge leagues"
ty... snapshotting seems more like an ooold bug... i dont know WHY the hell people are whining, because YOU HAVE TO WEAR the gear you are using, instead expanding it... i really really can not understand WHY ggg did not fixed it since the first build who was offical posted... if you maybe ask every other arpg designer, they will say that dis is just a massive bug. but finally fixed it. :) btw any more interesting nfos about act4? " i can not see what answer will dis be to anything what chris writes in his announce? so another guy who spams ... and btw: better do not write anything instead counting wrong! please ggg change policy and took those spammers out of the community! you are not on the first page as well. for dis i have updated another nice button: if you wanna use it: www.reeto.de/banner.png " oh i think to fix an old bug seems is really no nerfing to any content. i wonder why they do not fixed it any sooner? also i dont think that summoner rip now :) " interesting i had a build with nearly exact same gear... and it is working so great. i stopped playing it while i am back to the roots with a tanky marauder build.. but at all have no fear build worx without snapppshotting " i enjoy playing marauder... a solid build... here: 18k dps, 27k ammo, 170% res real tanky dude, like him very much :) ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▒▒▒▒░░░░░ ++HIDEOUT IMPROVEMENT THREAD: ..../view-thread/2179528...++░░░░▒▒▒▒ ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Last edited by loCurnus#1594 on Jun 17, 2014, 4:59:42 AM

that video was funny, really enjoyed it.
Ive defended snapshotting before, I used to like the malichis mask routine back in the day before the first snapshot fix with recast on zone. While a part of me still likes the fact theres mechanics and thought there, a depth to the thing that makes the game more interesting, I agree its got to go and Ill be glad to see the back of it. Its not fun to do, it does waste time, it does bring up issues where you have to balance around it or allow it to be stupidly op. " immortal crit daggers? Like the one HvR ripped with in the lab? The one he then remade, was forced to use against the second atziri triple boss fight where himself and Beerflasks were slaughtered and forced to log out near death, abandoning an entire mortal hope set without killing atziri? The immortal dagger build that Pulp rpped with... twice was it? The one being used to take down uber atziri in softcore leagues, at the expense of dying at least once on 95% of the runs? that 'immortal' crit dagger build? Shavs and immortal are rarely 2 concepts that work together. Theres nothing wrong with crit daggers in general just like theres nothing wrong with auras in general imo, talking about a 6 link 5 offcolour shavrones wraps build using a crown of eyes, aura snapshotting, passive tree snapshotting, low life mechanics built in to pain at/bloodrage/lioneyes paws and near mirror worthy rare items in multiple slots then yeah that particular thing is op. Crit daggers, crit wands and crit claws have been doing high damage forever, the extreme passive investment and the 1 in a billion rare eternal exalt crafted weapons required to achieve op levels of these things make them balanced. If they have the potential to do too much damage right now thats down to crown of eyes, low life mechanics and snapshotting imo, its not a separate issue to do with daggers/wands/general high crit weapons. I dont think its an issue with auras either, and I hope if those builds are fixed they are fixed at the point of the items and mechanics that separate them from normal, balanced builds using auras or crit weapons. I feel like the use of auras in those builds is key to how op they are, but theres a lot of people investing in the 1 aura cluster that is available to them, running 2 auras and fueling skills off 90 - 150 mana that will be completely fucked if they start nerfing aura reserve nodes to try and hamper these extreme aura builds. Theres a lot of people using a third 40% aura at the expense of having to bloodmagic all their skills and invest even more passive points, again those are usually balanced, respectable builds. I think a very tiny minority of people will QQ about the snapshot changes, most people who use snapshotting will be very happy about it. I know the majority of streamers doing the low life spec throw thing openly say they expected snapshotting to be nerfed and will be glad when it happens. |

all the Snap shot QQ. Now they have to learn to theorycraft. Boohoohoohoo.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

Still no explanation on to why did GGG lie in official video about trap+mine thing.
Point 1 Snapshot is not intended (so not coded specifically, important) Point 2 Snapshot checks fore links ONCE Then why is that in the video GGG contradicts itself by saying that spectres can be snapshotted with checking for links twice and somehow the game amalgamates teh checks into 1. I tell you why, because it is a lie. Unless it is specifically coded this way, which they say it is not. What I'd really like is an explanation on how the snapshotting fix will work, since they made this video now it sounds like they have a workable fix ready and are just polishing up details on it. Perhaps a video in a couple of weeks showcasing the upcoming post-snapshot builds?
Will it mean that auras will need be recast in every area to prevent snapshot? Will any gear-change auto update existing effect? What will happen if you add something that gives bloodmagic (like the covenant) if you already have active auras on mana? Will support gems now work instantly on pre-existing minions? so you can change added fire for multistrike and minions will automatically use the new support without recasting? I can appreciate that not all details are released yet, but at least some sort of "this is how it's going to roughly be after patch" would be useful to help us prepare mentally and buildwise for the change. PS. As an addendum, I will mention that the one thing I dislike the most about PoE (and I generally like most everything about it) is that patches change the meta so much that only the players that are in the top 1% manage to exploit all the best mechanics for the few months until the nerf and new exploits are revealed, repeating the process over and over. Nice.
Quite looking forward to not fucking about on zone change. Losing 1 or 2 auras that I run because I can, in exchange for fluidity of play. Of course I could get that fluidity now, by simply not snapping, but it seems I'm willing to forfeit that fluidity for a bit more OP, given the choice. Having that choice taken away, is not something I'm opposed to, quite the contrary. Casually casual. Last edited by TheAnuhart#4741 on Jun 17, 2014, 4:48:23 AM

" I second this, more specifics for EXACTLY how summoners will work after the nerfix(<---that word amuses me) please. If I have to leave my supports in place after summoning I may as well sell all my summoner gear now. IGN=ZeroLooper Last edited by HeisenbergBlue#7907 on Jun 17, 2014, 4:56:04 AM

" I'd love to see the look on this guy's face when he re-reads what he quoted and realizes he made himself look like a huge idiot |

Well done. :)
Let the QQ train roll into town. :P |

Fix Soultaker when you are at it...
This is clearly an out of this world unique that has NO drawback whatsoever and give much more advantage than you could think of. Mana regen ? Who cares ? Mana nodes ? Who cares ? CI low life and blood life support ? No problem... End result ? Several aura without any efforts at all, no need for mana nodes or regen node, no regen... Just invest in ES and some armor and you are gtg This item is broken |
