I won't be submitting my build as I enjoy playing it but I would like to +1 for Pneuma's build as it highlights just how badly the new gems were tested before releasing to live realm.

Hopefully at the end of the video Chris says "We currently have some job vacancies at GGG, we are looking to hire a new balancing team, please send your resume."

Use Carnage heart for Reflect Maps and Elemental Weakness Maps if the main damage isn't cold.

take out reduced mana from helm and slot it in place of Added Fire for half-regen maps.

Use Shavronne's Revelation + Extra Ruby for Crematorium boss. You can take out either ring for this.

Use Extra Topaz for Piety and Dominus maps.

Use Double Strike for bosses that take longer to kill (piety, vaal, maegaera? dominus).

You may want to take out the crit weakness gems for an Enfeeble in hard bosses, but shouldn't really matter.

Set the cast on damage taken in my shield to 20 and Immortal Call to 20/20, and level enfeeble in my helm to 20. Some toher gems can be 20/20'd as well though they are not as integral. Immortal Call is there because the momentary phys invincibility prevents me from dying to phys reflect.

Spam flicker strike/whirling blades between packs to build up power charges. click stuff with Reave to kill everyone. I set reave to left click and flicker to right click so I can use the two easily. Flickering every once in a while is enough to keep charges up, so you don't need to worry about constantly restacking.

Stats:
65k Reave w/ 4 power 4 Frenzy
90k Double Strike w/ 4 Power 4 Frenzy
6.8k ES (pushed up to 7k when equipping Shavronne's Revelation)

Vaal Pact Unwavering Stance means you can facetank everything that cannot oneshot you with your damage output. Does not need Abyssus nor Concentrated Effect to deal good damage, so it can have good AOE output as well as not being weak to reflect.

You die when you play dumb, otherwise you can do -max Crematorium, Shrine, Palace, Courtyard without any issues.

Video:
-max
half regen
boss damage
extra damage as cold
fleet
burning ground
Total quantity: 119%
It is a little bit laggy at the start so sorry about that.

20% physical reflect (legacy map mod)
Proof that you don't even die to double physical reflect, while still being able to do insane damage.

Stuff like that is why I don't use abyssus or concentrated effect, a build that can get to 100 is more important than being a dps jockey.

Hi,
I don't have much time right now and will have to copy/paste most of my email to Chris.

I would like to nominate the EK Marauder build I've used for the start of Nemesis. It might not be flashy, it might not be the fastest killing stuff, but it's a very strong build for new players/new league and that's why I would like to see it as a BotW.

So, I'm mostly a solo player. I grouped abit for 72+'s, but even those I mostly played/rolled solo. I looked for a build that doesn't depend on gear(weapons) and has strong quest rewards I can sell early on. So I ended up with an EK Marauder. In hindsight a AA EK Scion is much stronger, but I didn't knew about her quest rewards and/or if her tree will get nerfed.

The core ideas I've had in mind:

-Using Blood Magic and therefor running as much auras as possible. Hatred/Grace/Purity without Alpha's Howl, Hatred/Grace/Haste or Deter with.

-Being tanky by "default". Grace and CwDT with Enduring/Molten took the physical part, so I've had to figure out something for spells. I've looked at the different spell block items and decided that I would go with Saffell's. Giving up the phys block wasn't a problem at all.

-Not having to buy any gear. From level 1 to 80 I've bought 3 items: Purity, Faster Casting and my 6link. It's all about gem levels. Lvl 19>20 EK gave me around 700 dps.

-Having an easy time leveling up. I've used blue gloves with 6% attack speed from like 20 to 70 just for the sockets. It's an EK Marauder with not many damage nodes afterall :o.

-Being able to run all end game maps. Allright, I'm not crazy for a double reflect vuln -max no reg map, but who is? Some crazy rolls like those aside this build can run any map.

-Having a strong single target aswell. This was a real concern for me with EK. A Viper Strike on weapon swap worked pretty well in the end. With a +1/+2 sword and level 2 empwoer you get a lvl 25 Viper Strike. That's pretty strong! You can take stuff like Temple Piety down sooo fast with it.

-Being able to MF lower maps. I ended up doing 66-70's with 30 iiq/250 iir solo!

I was #5 on the Nemesis ladder last Wednesday when I died to Shrine Piety. Maybe you've seen it on reddit, it wasn't pretty!. My vacation ended so I wasn't that sad about dieing tho. I've just did all the 75+'s I've had and basically blew most of my currency at it :D.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to "brag" with that ladder placement. It's all about time investment and I took 2 weeks off for it. Still, playing solo most of the time I'm pretty proud of what I've achieved in those 2 weeks :).

Explosive Arrow Marauder by Slaydemkidz (lvl 95)

First of all some things you need to know:

- This build is meant to be played in Hardcore!
- Explosive Arrow has a pretty interesting mechanic: you can stack 1 - 5 arrows on 1 target and those arrows will explode after you stopped shooting at that target with Explosive Arrows for 1 second. The more arrows you stack the more damage does the explosion.
- Burning damage scales with the damage of the fire hit that caused the burning. That makes the burning of a five-stacked Explosive Arrow extremely strong, almost overpowered.
- Explosive Arrow's damage can only be increased by the gem combination and 'increased fire damage by %', 'increased projectile damage by %', 'increased burning damage by %' and 'area damage increased by %' on gear or the Passive Tree.
- As the damage is extremely high with the right gem combination there is almost no need for dps nodes. That's why you can focus on defense in the Passive Tree.
- The downside of Explosive Arrow is Elemental Reflect, it can oneshot you if you play bad. There is no excuse if that happens. You failed, reroll an easier character. If you know that you lose focus often you shouldn't even touch this build. It's extremely tanky, as tanky or even tankier than most Ethereal Knives builds but it's for experienced players, Not for new players!
- The build runs no auras because it has Blood Magic. you will need some gear to fix that. You don't have any aura but in the end this build doesn't profit a lot from auras anyways.
- If you play this you are a high damage tank. You are supposed to run into enemies, blind them, blow them up and watch survivors burn to death. Keeping your range is only required on extremely hard maps. You can take hard hits, so help your group by tanking large packs.

My Passive Tree:

I am going for more life nodes in the middle of the tree when I level up.

Passive Trees for lower levels:

- Level 20

You start using a twohander With Spectral Throw / Sweep - Life Gain on Hit and Heavy Strike for single target damage. It's pretty easy to level that way. Make Sure you have Life Gain on Hit before speccing into Blood Magic.

- Level 40

You are still melee. Enhance your damage with Faster Attacks / Added Fire Damage / Weapon Elemental Damage. Remember to level the gems for your Explosive Arrow setup as most of the damage depends on the gem level. If you feel you are not tanky enough use Enduring Cry / Immortal Call / Molten Shell / Summon Skeletons - Spell Totem. / Decoy Totem.

- Level 60

This is the point where you can switch to a bow and Explosive Arrow as you meet the Intelligence and Dexterity Requirements. Have fun! ;)

- Level 80

At this point you have to spend some Regrets. Don't pick up Diamond Skin / Diamond Flesh / Sentinel if you don't need the resists. If your build looks like this one just choose the Passives I chose in my level 94 build when you level up. Go for more Life in the Templar Tree and for Attack Speed on the left side of the Duelist Tree. Pick all the remaining Life Nodes on your path of destruction.

Of course you can make adjustments regarding Dexterity / Intelligence / Resistances and Life. This game is about build diversity. If you feel you need something more than the things I recommend, take what you think has the best use for your character at that moment.

Bandit Rewards:

I got the life reward from bandits in Normal and chose to kill all of them in Cruel and Merciless. Although I would consider taking the Endurance charge if I had the possibility.
EDIT: GGG officially announced Bandit Respec for the next patch :). Definitely going to pick up the Endurance Charge in Merciless.

I will go further into some decisions I made in my tree:

- Blood Magic: Allows me to not use a Blood Magic gem on my Explosive Arrow and is probably the only way to play this build as the manacost is 119. With a Blood Magic gem it's even more and hard to sustain if you shoot like 5 arrows per second.
- Elemental Equilibrium: I have cold damage on one of my gear pieces and I use a Split Arrow - Chain combination so i can apply Elemental Equilibrium on enemies with the Split Arrow to reduce their resistance for fire (I will go into this even more later).
- Resolute Technique: Missing an Explosive Arrow while stacking them up would be bad for your damage and crits are bad for you too as they will oneshot you on reflect. In conclusion Resolute Technique helps this build with both of its effects.
- Iron Reflexes: I have some evasion on my gear and when somebody has Grace it gets even more useful. Its not that important but just 1 point away.
- The Passive Tree contains almost all the Intelligence and Dexterity you will need for level 20 gems. If you have some of those stats on your gear you might change a few points.
- Life Regeneration: I have 700+ Life Regen. The reason for that is, that I don't have life leech on my Explosive Arrow. So most of the life I lose gets regenerated. I have Life Gain on Hit on my Split Arrow - Chain combination to heal up fast if necessary.
- Attack Speed: I have close to 5 attacks per second allowing me leech life fast with Split Arrow and fast stacking of Explosive Arrows
- Endurance Charges: By now it is pretty easy to keep those up and they bring me close to 90% Physical Damage Reduction even without auras.
- Life: Get as much as possible. You don't need dmg, You need life to sustain any incoming damage and hits on reflect monsters.

My Gear and Gem Choices (I tested a lot and this IS the best choice of gem combination you can make):

Spoiler
I use quill rain because, as mentioned earlier, there are no bows that can increase my dmg more than this one. The attack speed helps to stack up my arrows extremely fast, I just need about 1 second to stack 5 arrows.

Spoiler
The Split Arrow - Chain - Life Gain on Hit - Blind combination allows me to permablind every enemy near to instantly, leech life extremely fast (if you shoot at a large group with 5 attacks per second you get like 5000 life in 1 second) and of course, as I have cold dmg on 1 part of my gear, it allows me to lower the fire resist of enemies by 50% with the help of Elemental Equilibrium. By the way you should keep in mind that Lightning Thorns can be a problem for Split Arrow - Chain.

Spoiler
Some people might think Flammability would be better than Elemental Weakness, but it is not. It reduces the fire resist of enemies by 10% less than Elemental Weakness does. I can ignore the ignite chance increase on Flammability because I already have 74% ignite chance and as I use Elemental Proliferation I only need to ignite one target. I'm going for Empower and Enhance on my curse soon to have the ultimate Elemental Weakness of doom.

Spoiler

The combination here is obvious, I always get free Endurance Charges and Molten Shell. I keep the trigger gem on level 1 to get those skills casted as often as possible. The Smoke Mine is just for quick repositioning and not affected by Cast when Damage Taken!.

Rest of my Gear:

Spoiler
The Ruby Flask might save your life when you shot into a reflect pack as it reduces the damage you receive by a lot.
I know the gear is crazy, but you need some decent gear to be resistance capped in Elemental Weakness maps without Purity.
Quality on gems is extremely important and I recommend having all gems on 20% as soon as possible.
With this gear I am able to do the craziest stuff like solo Double Boss + Minus Maximum Resistances Vaal or Double Boss Temple Piety with Multiple Projectiles. You can do stuff where usually everybody would leave the map - solo.

Now the most important part: How do you actually play this character? How does it work? In which order do you use your abilities? Why do you use cold damage to trigger Elemental Equilibrium and how and when do you do it?

So what I do is:

- I spot an enemy / enemies to kill.
- I shoot 5 Explosive Arrows on one of them, trying to hit an enemy that is in the middle of the group.
- During the time it takes the arrows to explode, I curse them with Elemental Weakness.
- Before the arrows explode I start shooting Split arrow to blind them, leech life, and to trigger Elemental Equilibrium with the small amount of cold damage I have on my quiver. I chose cold damage because there are not that many builds that focus on cold damage out there. During the time I shoot Split Arrows I grant the enemies 25% additional Cold Resistance and reduce their Lightning and Fire Resistance by 50%. This helps my damage and the damage of any lightning damage build (and there are a lot of those out there). In groups you can support a bit with Elemental Equilibrium that way.
- The explosion itself triggers Elemental Equilibrium too, so that the monsters get 25% additional Fire Resistance during the time they burn. Because you don't want that to happen you continue shooting Split Arrows until like 1 second after the explosion so that the burning also profits from your Elemental Equilibrium.

Of course this has to go really smooth and needs some training.

That was a full rotation, that you can do on any boss or any monster, just care about reflect and you'll be fine. If you see Elemental Reflect just don't stack 5 arrows on them, try to shoot 2-3 arrows but not more.

If you receive too much damage, just spam Split Arrows, there is almost nothing that can kill you when you spam them.

If you happen to be in a minus Maximum Resistance + Elemental Reflect map try to replace your Increased Burning Damage gem with a Ranged Attack Totem gem to be safe. Don't dare to stack arrows in a map like that!

If you have any questions read the Q&A below or feel free to ask. You can also ask me ingame for some live footage of my build. ;)

Have a nice day everyone!

Slaydemkidz

Q&A:

Q: What would a 5 link setup look like?
A:
Spoiler
5 Link setup would be the same without Increased Burning Damage. But for maximum fun you need a 6 Link.

Q: Do you use arctic armor? It works vs reflect too.
A:
Spoiler
No, As I am Blood Magic and have no mana I can't use that.

Q: Why Elemental Weakness and not Flammability? With Flammability +% quality gives burning duration.
A:
Spoiler
As I mentioned in the thread Elemental Weakness gives 10% more Resistance reduce on enemies. You don't need the Burning duration by the way because burning is already like 10 seconds long ... and whatever burns that long ... is DEAD. :) And the burning on bosses will never run out as you constantly stack arrows and apply new burning to them. If your Ignite chance is really low because you don't have access to quality gems you might consider using Flammability, but with all 20/20 gems Elemental Weakness is superior.

Q: Whats changed? why are folks getting all this attack speed, and sooo little fire damage? Hate to spend my points if i dont fully understand whats up.
A:
Spoiler
This build is considered for Hardcore and the thing which is most likely going to kill you is Elemental Reflect. So you try to scale most of your dmg into the burning. You want to keep the dmg of your explosion as low as possible and focus completely on tankyness as you don't need fire dmg nodes because of the ridiculous dmg of a 6L with 6 dps gems. I calculated my dps with this build and that's around 33k. No reason to go for more ... except you want to rip to reflect ;). The attack speed is great for leeching life with your Split Arrow and you can stack up your arrows way faster.
hi guys. want to submit my stun marauder build. heard first about it when you nerfed kripps version some time ago because it was to strong and i wanted to play it since then myself.

now in the new nemesis league i tried it out and holy moly i rushed to act 1 merciless in like 10 hours (which is huge for me maybe not for others)

i use heavy strike and groundslam since they have reduced stun threshold. both have endurance charge on melee stun so that i have always my charges up w/o casting enduring cry.

on my cast when dmg taken gem i have immortal call to use the charges properly. as soon as the duration runs out im alrdy full with endurance chagres again.

i was lvl 65 yesterday and started mapping.

lots of fun with this safe build.

the character is called "headachedude". hope you pick me maybe, cu around

ps: playing since closed beta and i love your game

Trivializes hardest game content?

I recently played the Poorjoy's Asylum map and fought the endgame boss to test my AA tanking power.

LMP Tentacle Boss + Vulnderability + Flammability + 150% map damage + 25% turbo = 0 damage taken!

I also wanted to test this thing called reflect everyone is afraid of.

Double Reflect map + Phys reflect pack + elemental reflect pack = 0 damage taken.

The build uses some of the strongest defensive mechanics in the game (MoM, AA, Life Stacking, IR, DoDT) and still managed to break 7-10kDPS on EK.

Trivializing your Nemesis league :D

You'll still have trouble in half-regen maps. Not being able to run AA will make a huge loss to this character.
