Build of the Week, Season 2 Episode 3 Build Submission Thread

Actually, I do not feel like participating anymore, so I withdraw my submission.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Hi, The build i'm using is my own variant on the cast on crit builds out there.
Specialising in crit chance and attack speed from the passive tree, combined with GMP/spectral throw. Currently the only real threat to this character is lightning thorns... because well i shoot so many fireballs/arcs that i can die in a split second.

However if i don't actualy die. I will simply leech the damage back.
I'm using Grace+Determination for aura's and have capped resistances.
It uses Eldritch battery + some ES gear to be more then sufficient on mana regeneration.

Using a 6L with: Spectralthrow/GMP/Fire ball/Arc/Life leech/cast on crit. and a 4l Ice spear/Cast when damage taken/gmp/power charge on crit, to obviously get power charges.
Next i use the standard cast when damage taken combo, which will sadly not be possible anymore next patch. But it's too much of a staple anyway. Good riddance.

4 power charges brings my spectral throw crit chance to 70-ish.
and the spells to around 45 (afaik).

Right now, i'm Level 81 and i'm probaly just going to take additional life nodes to further increase my pool. And gear certainly is not best in slot. However it does its job and i'm pretty happy with it.

The concept is pretty easy , you have rather Low DPS but a high Hp Pool and High Regen combined with the synergie of Lighnting Arrow + Chain + Life on Hit you can do very hard content slow but easy.

That's a very interesting concept.
Casually casual.

Edit: Changed my mind.

Name: Coldieshoulders

Premise: Freeze everything. Cold spell witch. Crit chance with 2nd form ice spear is about 90% without power charges or curses, and could fairly easily get to the cap without power charges or curses if I had some godly Diamond Rings (I'm quite reliant on the rings for resistance at the moment).

Equipment

Disclaimer: I'm a solo player and not much of a gambler, so I haven't actually tried the highest level endgame maps yet. However, I was able to freezelock Temple Piety firing at about half my usual speed (I usually just run Discipline and Clarity, but I had to drop Clarity in favor of Purity when facing Piety because I had heard she was really dangerous and got scared), so I have a feeling I could freezelock some of the hardest map bosses as well.

Description: No life or ES nodes (except for one which was snuck into a damage node for 1.0.0). Playstyle varies a bit depending on what I'm up against. I have dual curse available from passives tree. Against crowds that I think might kill me, I use Temporal Chains and Frostbite. Against enemies that I want to make short work of, I use Frostbite and Critical Weakness.

Cold Snap with Elemental Proliferation is immensely useful for freezing crowds of enemies. Because freeze chance is calculated per-monster-per-hit rather than per-skill-use, Cold Snap + Increased Area of Effect + Elemental Proliferation provides guaranteed freeze against a sufficiently large crowd of enemies.

For general area damage, I use a Greater Multiple Projectiles Ice Spear linked with Power Charge on Critical, which grants a large supply of Cold Snaps for freezing during farming.

For single target, I use Ice Spear in a +2 cold gem levels item along with Cold Penetration and Increased Critical Damage for the highest damage-per-hit.

Lightning Warp is used to get out of sticky situations and other positioning play.

For general adventuring, I Temporal Chains the darkness and follow up with Frostbite then Cold Snap if Temp Chains detects an enemy. Then I go crazy with GMP Ice Spear. Of course, if they get the jump on me, I'll often skip to the Cold Snap or GMP Ice Spear step, depending on whether I Think I can kill them fast enough with Ice Spear and how many enemies there are (which affect Cold Snap freeze chance).

Against a boss like Temple Piety, I just Frostbite+Critical Weakness and then hold down the single-target Ice Spear button. If that's not trivializing, I don't know what is.

2nd form Dominus does pose a threat, but he is killable without dying on this character as long as one is willing to use portals - one simply must portal out whenever the blood rain starts, otherwise the process of quickly killing off adds, dodging enemy attacks, and then trying to get a long freeze proliferated onto Dominus for some DPS time against him is fairly standard as far as this character's strategies go.

It takes skill to use this character, but in an environment free of desync and blood rain, a perfectly skilled character will never die and decimate foes quickly before they can make a single attack.

This build
Vid

Even though you already did a Flicker Strike build, I'd say this build is different in a few things: Not only does it attack entire groups at the same time, it doesn't rely on taking a single enemy down at the time, but takes down entire groups to regain it's frenzy charges. The addition of Cyclone is also very important, every time you encounter a pack of mobs with more health then you can chip away with just your flicker strike(massive champions on a 30% phys reduced/enfeeble map for example), you can cyclone to bring down their health quite easily.
Cyclone is also a very important asset for bosses.

It's a very fun build to play, especially if you pull it off. Give it a try, and be amazed ;)

Oh btw, due to the addition of Cyclone, this build is one of the very few builds capable of partying up. And I don't mean by going with cyclone alone, even with flicker strike. Just act like everything is a massive champion pack. Cyclone, and then they get low, Flicker Strike away ;)
I am a nice guy.

My death's oath shadow, can face tank dom and end the fight very quickly, it can also face tank kole/blacksmith in high level maps very easy. He uses frenzy with block and life regen.

Why this build is special, it uses deaths oath, who does that? He does near 15k dps, and he has 5.4k life with 40 % block and 700 life regen! He doesn't use life leech gem or life on hit but pulls it from blood rage and death's oath. That's alot of chaos damage per second to live through and tell the story! This build also features an impressive 15.5 attacks per second!

Character Nithryok_zerachiel He was in onslaught till the map bug where blue packs did 3x normal damage and he ripped.
