they announced the new flask type to replace - at least the (main) functionality of - phase run... if this means no changes of any kind to phase run itself, the flasks have to do generally better then the skill by now, I'm not 100% sure to believe this.

Beside this (and the fact that belt slots are much more limited as gem sockets, flasks are based on charges that needs 'ressources' (kills/crits) to refill, while skills just only "need" mana (or life) to use them - which is much easier to regain.

It seems that they are just looking for things to tweak now just to keep from releasing OB. Reminds me of a mother who dreads their child leaving home so they just keep coming up with excuses for delaying it.

I really hope phase run isnt nerfed.. that would be sad since I think the movement speed with it is perfect right now. If the flask is just a new item then cool.. will be hard to decide if I will use it or not since speed is really nice but its hard to choose what 5 flasks you will use already.

Although.. there have been times where my movement speed was so high that I would die from not being able to react on time to what I encountered phase run+no armor/shield+flask movement buff while its filling+movement speed boots. Eventually I got rid of the flask movement speed because I couldn't handle moving so fast lmao..

still no update or confirmation on the estimated open beta release date.
it's ready when it's ready?

replacing phase run by a flask is a serious drawback for rushing areas but imho would be good for the gameplay itself. on my 2h axe marauder i basically load phase run before every hit on an enemy which i'm not one hit killing otherwise and generally if killing bosses.

if the flask's damage bonus (if there is one) is not stopping after the first hit, for me fights would feel more natural and less hectic.

that implies the sum already charged for shipping which was included in the supporter packs was an averaged estimation of the total costs to come? seems so because there was no charge by country to deliver the goods.
we once wanted to send our sleeping bags in a parcel back home, dropped dead in the post office when discovering the costs. it was definitely more than 15$.

Actually, while I could understand this sentiment perfectly, I know that the lack of a certain D2 mechanic in this game has long bothered the devs. The result of this was really obvious in the first few Cut-Throat tests, because they were all about phase run.

And I am fairly sure the devs do not want a skill in this game that is virtually mandatory for all builds, all classes.

This was fast (hahaha) becoming the case with Phase Run.

What I'd like to see happen is PR lose some of its obvious mobility utility in favour of these QS flasks but retain its function as a damage booster due to the 'surprise' factor. This might require a complete reworking of the skill, however.

I dont expect any damage bonus from the flasks.

Its a bit strange, that they explicit made it accessible to all classes (as Hailrake reward), if this will be only a temporarily kind of solution... on the other hand, its more or less frustrationg also to first raise the movement speed and nerf it later back (as other 'solution' to the gem reward). But there's a reason, why people demands movement increases: its not only important in races, its annoying to just move (back) through (nearly) empty areas, and you have to compensate the penalties from your armour in the first place just to reach zero...

Idea:
If the movement part will be shifted from phase run to the new flask, the skill could be renamed to 'Swiftness' with only an attack speed bonus.

This is most likely the case. Phase run is too useful, despite all the gripes it can't be casted while moving. I use it on every build solely to run through annoying areas. The flasks are a good change because it limits phase run spam, as mana regen made the speed boost have no noticeable cost.

Also, they arent going to release OB until its ready, and thats a good thing. OB requires a few more functional features to be completed. Balance tweaks are most certainly the role of a different GGG person/people, than the tasks that need to be implemented.
