Contents of the 0.11.3 patch

1.) The head of the company actually speaks to the comminity!
2.) That Chris made a mistake just tells us that he is speaking direcly to us and not through 17 employees checking for errors in hes statements!

Keep it coming Chris and co.! I actually wish they would go even futher and bring back build of the week. Make patch preview like LoL and maybe stream from time to time (Screw the mistakes and errors!)
dunno if it's been suggested, but a debuff with stacks is a good way to discourage mass dying.

For instance,

1st death -->5% loss

You receive a stack that lasts 1 day/1 week (insert some time interval)

2nd death -->6% loss

3rd death -->7% loss

etc etc

After a while, you will really be punished for throwing yourself at content. I would personally make the stacks have a timer that refreshes the first stack so that they only are removed after a full day/week/whatever has passed since the last death and then you can remove all stacks.

Hopefully the performance increases in 0.11.4 includes fixes for people with amd cards. 7970 and ice shot/discharge make the game nigh unplayable :(

Looking forward to seeing the new skill!

So I see I'm not the only one with an AMD 7970 that is having major issues with graphics. I realllllyyyyyyyy wish this game would be optimized better to utilize next gen graphics cards.

Please nerf again freezing pulse!! a projectile that deals area damage, freeze and has 6% crit base is ridiculously OP..

BAD DECISION. That was NOT feedback from real players, those "we need 10%" whiners represented minor part of game audience, 5% or less. Here, take feedback from another 95% of players, who usually dont post on forums at all: we want 3%-8% penalty. Now go and make another news.

You're crying about 2%?
How much do you plan on dying? If you just learn to play, it wouldn't be a problem at all.

I am journalist in biggest russian game journal, so i am know how to play in games, thanks. And i am not crying, i just say that 95% of players against this decision, thats all. Whose opinion will be heard - 5% of geeks like you or 95% of normal players like me - it's up to developers.

The only "real" way to know the true percentage of who agrees/disagrees/doesn't care about the change is to hold a poll, but even those will be skewed because there are people with multiple accounts who I'm sure would vote multiple times to skew the polls to whichever side.

They already stated they weren't going to do something that "encourages people to remain offline to bypass a penalty".
Guess not...

dying to monster A you lose 15% exp -- if you find and kill that monster A you gain half of that exp back, so 7.5%.

If you've died twice to monster A you lose a total of 30% exp -- if you find and kill monster A you gain 15% exp back... etc

So if a monster kills you then they're debuffed. This debuff can stack multiple times which determines how many times you have died to that monster. The debuff duration lasts for several minutes with a 50% return experience. If this debuff wears off you cannot claim any exp that was lost...

This will cater for both sides of the argument for HIGH and LOW exp loss

I am really very disappointed that you listened to all those trolls who keep asking for a higher death penalty in a league they don't even play in.

3/8% was already still a very high penalty and it would only have changed the penalty system from "extremely frustrating" to "highly frustrating". There was no real reason to go even higher.

Honestly, if you don't want people in standard to have fun, why don't you delete that league completely? Then we non-hc players would at least know that you don't want us in this game...

Honestly, GGG, i just lost a lot of respect for you! -.-

If you are complaining about the death penalty then you never had respect for what they are trying to accomplish in the first place.

@searing bond: I use it from time to time with my melee as support. I cast it behind me so the mobs don't get to it and benefit from the fire damage mobs take when they are near me.

sorry o exalted supporter. maybe we should also pay to have our opinion be more important than others and be able to speak on behalf of others

and while his comment was lame he does stumble upon a point tho, you have all these other leagues and they cater for "hardcore" players so whats the point of punishing the casual player playing standard?

all players i know (bar the first playtrough) play to the farming zones and spend x levels there before "powering" through the rest of the content anyway. and if you struggle with a boss go level and deathball him. so is this really the way the game was meant to be played? check stats on ledge/FS(FR?)/docks versus other zones (playtime/kills/whatever)

While I agree that those Hardcore players should STFU about a league that doesn't concern them (the elitist side of them probably can't shut up anyway) this is all still in testing stage. At the very least, GGG is actually taking note of the exp penalty problem, and they are trying to do something.

5% reduction is better than none. Lets see how it goes.

This makes perfect sense actually, for all I care, people asking for more penalty on death should just consider playing HC. Leave SC to SC players and let us have fun on our spare time. We're already having a hard time juggling our spare time to allot several more hours for the time lost when we die. HC is always there for you "Hardcore" players.

To Chris and the team, at least we know you really listen to the community and act quickly on it. So good job on that. I still think crafting needs rethinking though.
