Please no more Incinerate Totem builds.

Unplayable in a full Party! Can't see anything as a meelee and older PCs get 3 FPS!

Had an Incinerator in our Party and we mobbed him until he finally deleted that crappy performance killer.

The build was very strong though. Perhaps it will be more viable with the new performance updates.

Won't still be able to see shit though.

Hopefully the performance increases in 0.11.4 includes fixes for people with amd cards. 7970 and ice shot/discharge make the game nigh unplayable :(

To give up, if its no good even for 7970 lol
I hate ice shot and discharge too, i use 7770 tho.
Although im AMD fan, next i cannot but buy geforce.

This makes me really sad and is exactly why I posted my plea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/394294/page/18.

@Triela: Note from my experience: Nvidia doesn't do better than AMD, it looks to be more a HDD I/O and/or CPU related thing, see my post linked above.

Nice upcoming patches and staff but i think 3/8% was better...

We all know that this game is not casual...and for that reason some people like to test their own builds on maps before they go to HC...and want to level fast with minimum xp loss..Unless ofcourse the most % of you are doing copy-paste the popular builds and go step by step on the walkthroughs....(wow..thats too hardcore!)

Neither way its better than before on the xp loss and i aggree with a previous post that would be better like this:

0-70 merciless 10-15% death penalty
71-80 idk 5-10% death penalty
81-100 1-5% death penalty

I'm very glad global chat is being improved, but I'm not fond of the changes to trade channel. While it meant the death of Global, cycling trade channels between zones was actually a huge benefit to the function of the trade channels--cycling channels introduces you to a fresh audience to advertise to, and new traders constantly popping in to advertise their wares. This means I'd have to manually change trade channels in order to reach a fresh audience. Might not seem like a big deal, so what you've gotta press an extra 2-3 buttons? When it was something that occurred automatically upon entering a new zone, I could post without hassle nor interruption to my gameplay. Just pop up my trade, resume playing, and wait for PMs. Every extra step added is that much less time I'm spending playing, and that much more time I'm spending trading.

On another note, I'm really glad we're getting back to rebalancing some skills. Now to see Arc and Arctic Breath revisited... :D

You're being a little hard on GGG, I think.[...] I'm guessing it's just that you're annoyed by the decision, and don't see how it could be any different from that.[...]

I have to admit that i was already in a bad mood, so i might have overreacted a bit on this.
You're also right about me being annoyed but it's not really about GGG's decision(s) but more about those people who constantly flame everyone who isn't as "hardcore" as they believe they are themselves.

Usually i always try to stay calm, be friendly and when i criticize something, i try to explain the logic behind my thoughts.
And then there are those people (trolls?) who insult everyone who has a different opinion than them and thereby make a flamewar out of every reasonable discussion and noone is actually doing anything against it.

Today was one of the few times, GGG actually listened to the players like me who just want to play a fun game without getting frustrated because that one second of not paying attention just cost me/us the character progression of an hour (or even days if you progress further than i did so far).
When i read the first announcement, i thought "finally a step into the right direction" and then the flaming and whining started and soon thereafter, GGG took a step back to satisfy the players who don't want anyone to have it easier than now even if it doesn't affect them.

And that's the thing:
One of the things i respected about GGG was that they always took their time thinking changes through thoroughly no matter how upset some people got.
This time though, the self-proclaimed hardcore players got mad and GGG bowed to their will.
How can i not lose some respect for them if one of the reasons for my respect vanishes to thin air?

PS:
On the actual topic: GGG always said that the reason for the death penalty in softcore is to prevent people from going all kamikaze and still progress.
To achieve this, losing 1% or maybe 2% per death would be more than enough. If you constantly die, you still wouldn't be able to progress after a certain point but it wouldn't be such a big annoyance to everyone who just dies from time to time.

I mean, how is it making the game more challenging if you're basically forced to wait until right after a levelup to try something you're not 100% sure you can do?
Basically, you only can chose between either being frustrated by the constant setbacks or be bored by never trying anything that is not completely safe...

The current death penalty is no challenge, it's just a mechanic that limits progress to those who play very defensively.

So, we have a softcore league for those who don't like the hardcore experience.
And then there's a system that makes sure that only those can progress after a certain point, who play just as if they were in a hardcore league.
It just doesn't make sense!

Make the system, when HC players don't progress in lvl or maps, they loose 70% exp.
It should be 5.1% and 10.1% because I am SOOOO MUCH BETTER AT PLAYING THEN EVERYBODY.

I do agree that it was better for them to lower it incrementally since if they every have to raise it again a big shit storm would happen on the forums.

I'm quite happy that the XP loss was changed to 5% / 10%.

And this is coming from a player who suffers more than others from XP loss, since I play solo. This change will make it very possible for me to reach the softcap in this game, which is somewhere around Level85 from what I figured.

This game is meant to be difficult, so XP penalties must be meaningful - a description that would fit the 10% penalty. I would label the 15% as "harsh", but was somewhat fine with it nevertheless.

Getting frustrated sometimes is part of a difficult game, how else can it be? Without some (reasonable!) amount of frustration and some dedication put into the game, there will be no satisfaction.
