{3.2.0} Spectral Gods: [Life Based Spectre/Golem Hybrid Summoner | Clear Speed | End Game Bossing]

Hey! Loving this spec, i just feel like i need abit more survivability so im thinking of switching off projectile weakness or flammanility for enfeeble. My question is wich should i switch off from? Ive got my vis mortis 6l so my spectres cant inflict elemental ailments since they have ele focus. Thanks

I got that helm like matt suggested. My spectres are clearing things just fine but they're not actually 'destroy' things like your spectres. The scourge is the last thing i can change now. Idk if there's other way to improve their damage. I'm thinking of replace faster proj with ele focus or control des since i want them to hit harder.
Also my pc is crap so go fast isn't the best option
Any suggestion is appreciated xD

You can run MoM, if you want. I choose not to because it interrupted my shield charging if I were to get hit and my mana would be drained.

Spectre do not scale down so you can technically raise high level spectre from a T17 shaper realm and have the same power going into a T11 map for example. You can easily achieve this by having a lvl 18 desecrate inside a +2minion helm or +1 minion helm(for lvl 19 desecrate). Once you have solar guards from the campaign the spectre should now be saved in your desecrate "pool". Simply go to the highest level area u have access to and desecrate for higher level solar guards.

Not exactly sure what your going on about "tainting" the pool lol? Your thinking too hard. Solar Guard is a base type monster. Raise spectre can only raise the white version of mobs.


Thanks for the info. By tainting, I was thinking that by bringing in, for example, level 50 SGs into a map with lv 81 SGs, that the level 50s would get mixed into the pool with the 81s.
This is indeed a very nice league for minion jewels! Opted for Darkness Enthroned and 4 jewel sockets in the tree. I'm a bit miffed that my lightning resistance is missing 1% to cap it.

Didn't take MoM, have 6.3k life and 40/20 block (going up to 70s with bone offering) with Enfeeble as an added layer of protection. Using the mana pool for Clarity+Haste and Generosity+Anger. I haven't delved into red maps yet, but stuff is melting faster than I can shield charge into it, and I don't even have the Scourge yet!

Finished Uber lab on my first attempt of the league, though 2 of my lvl 81 spectres died to the slamming blades and I had to summon 2 lvl 75 ones. Any tips on how to keep them alive during a long sequences of traps?
is "x% lifereg of minion hp" on jewels worth it to keep minions alive?
(1-60)

is the "add dmg to minion attack" jewel worth it?

Also what is the better option? Tabula Rasa or 5link Vis Mortis?

Are Solar guards effected by Wrath or only Anger - anyone knows that for sure? I find it hard to test.

Matt has his personal reason of not doing MoM on his final build, while I'm on a different line of opinion regarding this, he made the build and his reasoning makes sense. Pretty sure there are no general consensus regarding which option is best, it's a matter of preference and difference of opinions.

From my perspective. Summoners are starved with life nodes, and MoM is virtually a 30% more life with an added bonus that damage is subtracted from mana first. There's no single node in PoE that does that, there's not even a collection of 4 nodes that does that. Not even taking the whole node group of Mortal Conviction is as good as MoM when it comes to 'beefing' your character up.

Problem is, you can not just take the Mind Over Matter node and call it a day. MoM does not work like that. I've seen people do this all the time and then give MoM up because they think it does nothing or draining their mana at times. The only reason why MoM would ever drain your mana when you get hit is when you do not have enough unreserved mana. It's that plain and simple. The math just works like that (you can see a detailed explanation on the wiki page if you like). If you have enough, or close to the ideal requirements for MoM (~43% of total life), your char will die first before your mana gets drained. My char has nowhere near that ideal mana, and I have never not even once during my entire time with Summoner got my mana drained in one hit/due to degen effects (for multiple hits I just use mana flask), not even when I took a hit from Mino's nor Red Elder's slam/burrow. Which is where Essence Worm comes into play.

It hurts not having that 600+ Life gen I had going on (had the life regen amulet), but I still have 350 or so and with a mana/life flask acting as healing and absorbing damage into mana, it is insane regen. I have done All T1-14 Maps, I only re-roll Elemental Reflect mod, damage mods mean nothing cause stuff just dies, same for life mods. No Regen mod sucks, but cause I have a huge life/mana pool, 2 life flasks and 1 mana, I never run out or feel scared on that either.

I have had 6.5k life builds feel a lot squishier than I do right now. That amulet with the correct corrupted mod is just insane. My profile is public, but it is just a mimic of Sarah's. My jewels are worse (max life 30+, 6% Cast, Flat Fire/anything damage) these cost maybe 1-5c each at most? I still haven't bought/used a Scourge cause even at T15 maps, Yellow Elder, and Uber Izzy I'm still just ripping bosses before they can really get into anything mechanic wise.

I've watched the price of the scourge go from 1ex to 40c since I've been farming. I've easily made over 20Ex already, best league for me hand down. Got my 6L chest, cost 11ex first week. Got 7+ Ex just looking at me in stash, 15+ Offerings for Lab runs who knows what I might get from those, made a decent amount from enchants already. Going to have plenty of cash for a 2nd character easy this league because of this build.

I'm at 140/157 Maps, about to finish that soon and take down Guardians/Shaper/Red Elder. This is the first build I've pushed this hard, and felt so strong before next to my Marauder AW Totem build, but he was no where near this speed when it came to farming currency maps or bosses.

I just want to say amazing job with the build Matt and Thank you to Sarah for all the testing and supportive information during this league. It has helped pushed this build to amazing levels for me.


Yeah, the Aylardex with Mana Gained implicit was pretty hard to find when I first look for one to test. Gratz that you managed to grab one! :)

Victario's Charity + Necromantic Aegis with Mana Gained on Hit Aylardex + MoM + Essence Worm was the tankiest setup I could come up with at the time, it beats my previous 2k regen setup and even when I tried having 7.5k health. I'm just glad that it could help someone else other than myself.

While you can do that (swapping to one defensive curse), there are other more effective ways that's more reliable and a lot less impactful to your DPS when it comes to survivability. Some of the previous replies in this thread might help you with those.

I personally dislike Faster Projectiles on Solar Guards or any spectres in general. While I used to use Pierce in previous leagues, I came to a realization that neither Pierce nor FP contributes to any significant improvement to my map clear speed if any at all. But this is highly subjective and there's nothing wrong with preferring to use one.

My reasoning for the above is that you can compensate for the reduced range of your spectres by changing how you play your summoner. Mobs that hit you instantly with unavoidable damage when you just come in sight in PoE is extremely rare, which means you can keep moving and casting Ball Lightning while at the same time "forcing" your spectres to respawn due to your movement. It usually took me very short minutes to kill everything in a fully sextanted red map, looting for stuff actually took me longer than killing the mobs. And neither Pierce nor FP comes anywhere close to either Ele. Focus nor Cont. Destruction when it comes to single target DPS.

Other than that, you might want to shift your focus from minion life to minion cast speed on both tree and jewels. I have very little respect for minion life stat, and I don't even remember the last time they died to anything, even on red purifies, desecrators or eradicators which are some of the non-trap stuff that can actually kill minions almost as fast as Shaper's beam (well other than Uber Atziri trio ofc.). Other than that, your gear's mostly fine imo.

- Either Ele. Focus or Cont. Des. I'd go with dropping Cont. Destruction. Up 2 u.
- 5L Vis beats Tabula, but Tabula is usually enough even with only 3 spectres for general farming while you farm/gamble for your 6L Vis.

Unless there's something seriously off with Solar Guards. Wrath doesn't affect them because Solar Guards are spell based spectres and they don't deal lightning damage. And it's actually pretty easy to check. Minions that's affected by Anger will have tiny bits of smoke when they hit, and those affected by Wrath will have those slight lightning effects.

What's better for you is not the same with everyone else, which is proly the reason why Matt provided those flexibility in the first place. Do you need more tank? or do you want more DPS?

many people dont play with "The Scourge" why?
If i have 4 Spectre and use this Item, if a "Spectre Wolf" spawns my "solar Guards" respawn?
because it makes no sense to use this weapon then..., i like my "Solar "guards" :)
and the Abyss Belt is good too or not?
2 Socket, so you can choice self what you want to do more tanky or dps...+/- ressis cap?!

Sry im new in this game if my idea not rly that good it´s okay, just tell me why ^^
