I only hope when he meant 'soon', he meant 1.06 and not a hotfix. That gives us 2 weeks to finish up and milk this boat for all it was worth. Then back to other chars (which scale much better past a certain gear point imo.) Moving forward, the most damaging combo for a BM would now be RS - Minion Life - Minion Damage - Remote Mine - Conc Effect - Increased Burning? Time to get that Mine gem levelled. P.S. Mark confirmed on 9 Jan that Conc Effect affects BM Unrighteous Fire, both damage and AoE component. It's a shame - we have a few 15% damage nodes that we must path to, and that's it for damage. Everything else relies on our 6L setup. We don't have attack speed, crit chance, damage and mult nodes on our summons. The quality of our weapons doesn't affect our output, only uniques can, and only Montre'gul's does it in fine style - the rest are 1 chaos pieces of trash. :/ CoD was a stop-gap for all those things. To drop it off totally when people were paying the 10% price is a kick in the goolies. Depends on how they apply the nerf. If they stop the 'remote mine add COD' bit and give us persistant minions, I would consider dying for a BM spectre.

" I highly doubt he meant in a hotfix. The first level 100 in Nemesis was carried in the last levels by a summoner using this bug. If they were going to fix it as a reactionary measure it would likely have been done by now. In regards to other characters scaling better in end game, I suppose we'll just have to wait to see the potential of our new skills. I have high hopes that they will be an enoyable addition which do not drastically affect our current play-style; however, on the off chance that they are not welcome additions, and in the case that our snapshotting ability is also eliminated, I've already assembled my backup plan. Two weeks of planning has produced a melee witch build with 145k dps and fantastic survivability. I hope I never need to make the jump, as I adore summoning, but time will tell what's best for leveling a witch beyond 90. If they do remove snapshotting, those new abilities will have no point, as we simply don't have the sockets for them.

I have mixed feelings if snapshotting is removed.
Everyone knows how bad it will be. Losing sockets, damage nerf, require new gears...etc. But think it in a +ve way. If you are running an extra hard map and half of your zombies died, you dont need to "Oh shit I need go back to a1n to raise them again". You could just simply raise them in the map and continue. ign: thirsty_guy

I mean, gear change aside, we will have to WEAR summoner ammy, weapon, boots - and they are crap as they provide nothing except minion goodies. If I will have to wear montregul's, it will mean losing overleveled AA and mana regen, if I will have to wear teh ammy, I lose life and defenses, with boots I lose life, mana resists. IGNs

my main concern is that we might need to get all of those minion nodes (im even considering that to grab 1 more monty zombie), but to do that i'll have to cut on my survivability...
we got to w8 and see. but i dont think that devs will nerf minions, i mean skellies, animate guardian/weapon are those that need some work. worst case cenario they nerf zombies to a point where we have to keep raising them inside maps, while "patting" mobs, at wich point i'll just leave the game. i love POE dont regret any single penny i spent here, but i started playing as summoner and i'll never use another kind of build by force. Hear this words but once and they will echo in your nightmares forever!

As a lazy person who rarely use CoD due to the fact that my pal need culler stay all the time in maps, and go back to normal and raise zombie with CoD take way to much time, I have mixed feeling :P

I 'was' trapper summoner. I greatly improved survivability of my minions by using freezing mine - cold pene- ele prolif in +2 cold skills weapon. This with a lot of trap and increase freeze duration passives allowed me to perma freeze all mobs and even some dangerous bosses.
Well this got nerfed and freezing mine isnt rly viable anymore but dmg of BM was still rly good and thx to qCOD and increase AOE the burning aura had great aoe so combined this with clever use of frost wall i was still somewhat been able to do high level maps. This will be nerfed as well so i rly hope they at least give us full passive respec so i can either do different build or depending on new summoner passives change my build completly. |
