What do you think of the new 0.2 patch?

"
In a normal case of an EA game you would be right. But that is not the case anymore. The director himself said they are treating it like a live release now with leagues and only making big balance changes with the big patches. So the excuse of EA is out of the window because they don´t treat it like one, citing players “getting angry” if they change something during leagues, which is nonsense, this I completely on them.

I think you completely misunderstood them in this point...they've he said in terms of patch behaviour they'll treat it like it's a live release (like in POE1).

Means no mid season changes, they want the people to "break the game" wit OP builds, etc....and this is not a bad thing, because only this way they can collect relevant data to balance the game propperly for a good 1.0 release

But at the end of the day the game is still in Early Access (Beta) state from theyr side and will be treated as one.

It's not EA anymore as soon as it's becoming a F2P game (the time you dont have to pay for EA Access)....you have to listen more carefuly next time what exactly they say. ;)

There is nothing but your fantasy here my friend. They made it clear several times now, that they are treating it like a live game, hence the EA excuse is out of the window.

Last interview with WCCFTECH: Question: In the last season, there wasn't much of a balancing nerfing the class skills or items. Are you going to make balance changes during the season or continue the way you did in the last season?

When we went into early access with Path of Exile 2, we did believe that we'd be able to do a bunch of nerfing and that kind of stuff during leagues, which we don't normally do. We quickly found out that it's really just like a live game. You can't just nerf stuff mid-league because it breaks people's builds and they get very angry. We pretty much stopped doing that very quickly. This update will do a huge amount of balance and then anything really egregious we'll fix as it comes up, but generally speaking, we try to leave the balance mostly alone during the league. We now effectively bottle up all of those balance changes and then we release them when we're doing a season. As I said, it's a full game rebalance this time. A lot of the things that players are currently complaining about, like Herald Device and this kind of stuff, will definitely get nerfed this season.

They don´t understand EA and treat it as a live game, simple and by their own words. No discussion .

What is sad is this decision was made the one time they listened to the community. Which is the day after they made that change to meta skills. Never again. Not only did they stop making small changes on a frequent basis but they also stopped listening to the community at all. Instead they appear to do the opposite, doubling-down on bad ideas like towers. Or ignoring things like trading, bots, etc. And their response in interviews to questions about things like armor, a big rub for players, is to laugh? I dunno, I think they've snubs folks enough to make a large number move on. Guess we'll see. 1M+ keys sold, 600k playing on release...I'm guessing 200-300k for the first days of 0.2.0. Just feels like such a letdown.

Only becasue they didn't fix ALL reports from the community with 0.2.0 it doesen't mean that they they don't work on it or wont in future.

Adding a AH is a big task and will probably take very long to implement, so they can guarantee a safe trading platform.

Same for getting rid of bots....name me 1 game pls where they got rid of ALL bots, it's an endles fight man and I would say impossible to win (bcs as soon as they detect and lock 1 bot-type they're confronted with 100 new ones).

What do you guys think how game developement works, esp developement of such a huge game like POE2?...That they write a wishlist into a txt file and it's automaticaly implemented into the game? XD

Give them time to brathe man.....if you want a complete game wait till 1.0 release but stop blaming them because they didn't fix every single critics from the community within 4 months. ^^

Not addressing crafting, so 0.
Im disappointed seeing the twitch life video. But i was disappointed before the video couse i new that waiting for GGG to change some significant things with 0.2.0 patch is not gonna happen.

First off all i will say, bringing new acsendary classes is good but how im supposed to change to another acsendary class when there is no option. Beginning all over again is not an option for me.

I didn't spend money to buy stupid cosmetics but i spent 150€ to buy some good gear and I'm not proud of. But i hated they way Devs serve crafting becouse even with patch 0.2 is still gambling.

Another big disappointment is that they tried to fix balance by adding 100 new uniques and gems. But this is not the right way. Is not acceptable to kill a boss in 1,5 sec with bow while you need 50x time with crossbow. They should have done major nerfs and buffs to passive skills to improve the base balance.

Same conditions also to HP, shield, Mana, etc. For example warriors should start the game with at least 4k HP life while mages with 4k mana. I play now Gemling legionnaire Merc with crossbow weapon. How the hell i will increase HP life over 2k when i need to think a ton of things with the few passive skill that i earned until level 95. For ES its almost impossible for me to reach over 100 points. Seeing others doing the trick with the chaos passive and reaching 12k shield makes me wonder why balance is the most significant thing in all games. Otherwise we all gonna choose the few best classes and that's all.
Some more fresh interview with Jonathan.
(Now you will know that bosses in Sekhemas (and maybe even Chaos) all this time had x2 more HP than intended, haha)

What I think? 0.2.0 is not changing anything that really needs changing. We're going to see the same ranged builds dominating the gameplay and the cat zoomies endgame with new maps.
I am quite pleased with the 0.2 patch.

Now before some of you start screaming, let me say this:
YES, serious issues such as performance, balancing etc. have not YET been fixed and content additions are not as frequent as was promised, BUT,
I sincerely believe that this patch is a move in the right direction and GGG have been listening and making adjustments in response to much of our feedback.

This is coming from someone who has a LOT of complaints about the game.
And yes, I want an auction house, and yes, spammers are a problem, and yes, I would like more classes and the fighters not to suck and armor to be fixed and acts released faster, blah blah blah...

However, since GGG are moving in the right direction (it may take longer than expected to get there), I have decided to let them cook.

My two cents.

Do you think it's a good decision to have 1 portal on juiced maps, basically eliminating the ability to gather decent loot and trade with players?
