$12USD On Sale For A Map Tab?

Honestly I wish they'd just charge me $70 for the game and stop all this MTX crap.

GGG cares more about "engagement" than creating a quality game, and it shows.
What pisses me off is that they knew this was coming and said nothing. They announced the sale, I bought some tabs, then they come out with this. They could have waited for the sale and released this with the sale. Really makes me mad.

Yup, everything is emotional and illogical when you don't understand it, or the point being made.

I also understand. I don't understand why it matters.

There's a dozen ways you could tackle storage. Just because they give you the ability to reconnect to a game and your loot is still there, doesn't mean it should cost you money.

I play lots of games where If I crash, it doesn't matter. You can just load up and continue losing nothing. None of them need a server.

Yeah... good luck with stash (item storage) being client-side in "Path of Exile" where ppl could abuse this sooo easily to dupe literally everything they want without GGG being able to even track it... that's some 4D chess.

Aha... China did what? Are you mixing up general gambling laws with PoE stash tabs?

You know, the PoE China Client has actual Pay2Win things in the store...
the more you know.

There's quite a few things they outlawed, and they're looking at more.

Mechanics that incentivize people to spend money, are being outlawed.

I wonder what an entire game based around a crafting/economy is considered, when they make the experience awful for those that don't buy tabs?

Ha... yeah... sure. The Chinese government forgot to look into PoE, a game that is held by Tencent, a company that works closely with the Chinese government.

You are not forced to buy the map tab. There is literally no need to hold on to every single map tier your are not running, so you could manage your maps with a quad tab:

or if you don't want to spend any money on tabs in a regular-sized tab:

Did I say that?

I don't think I did.

Pretty sure I said that PoE was using predatory microtransactions, and they're slowly outlawing them in China.

That's great. I know you're not forced to do anything. I never claimed you were.

But your experience is worse without them. It incentivizes you to buy them.

Just because you don't find it to be an issue, doesn't mean it's suddenly not predatory. It's still predatory.

The only argument I'm making here, is that the game is worse because of it. And it is. It's bad game design, it incentivizes profits over enjoyment. The game company doesn't put it's passion into the game.

Na its 150 points on the poe 2 shop normal, 120 sale.Go check the current price

I thought it wasn't available in the PoE2 shop and that you had to buy it in PoE1 so I didn't look. Now that I looked, it's indeed 120 on sale right now so yeah that's weird since they are half that price in PoE1.

Ok. On one side you say "PoE mtx are predatory" (Unfair, Misleading and Aggressive Monetisation Technique) in relation to stash tabs, but then you say "you are not forced to". That's a contradiction.

When you start with PoE you get stash for free so you can play the game and even "finish" the game if you want. And every time you make a statement you come with your big words "bad game design" or "profit over enjoyment", but are you able even ONE time to offer a solution? You know, something that would change that in a positive way for both sides (player and GGG).

It's easy for you to blame GGG without any constructive feedback provided.

The price is 150 coins in POE 1 and it has always been the same. you can find posts on Reddit of people complaining about it 7 years ago. You probably confused it with the currency tab.

Yup, That's my feeling as well. I just want to play a quality ARPG.

Maybe PoE 2 will be a good ARPG, but given how many systems they're bringing from PoE 1 that were all focused around engagement, keeping people playing. I'm not seeing it happening.

I'll continue voicing that this is what I want. Just hard to do when the forums are full of people who argue with you about it.

Two things an be true at the same time.

Do you always view the world in such a black and white manner? Seems utterly exhausting.

Here's an example that's not tied to PoE, since you're emotionally tied to the game and in a defensive state.

There's an update for Windows 10 to go to Windows 11.

You are free to not update. But if you don't. You won't get any security updates. You might get a virus. And new games won't work on the PC anymore. Browsers stop being made for it. The computer becomes unusable after a few years.

The reason Windows wants you to update too, is because Windows 11 has a lot of great little spying features that it can install on your PC. Including the new AI stuff. They want your data. Windows 10 could continue to be supported for decades if they wanted. They even claimed it would be the last version of windows.

So, are you forced to update? No. You aren't.

Are you incentivized to update? Yup! Your experience will gradually get worse and worse, till you reach a breaking point, and give in. At least that's what they hoped.

They tried similar with Windows XP btw. But the community forced them to continue giving security updates for many years after because they weren't going to switch.

Same goes for Stash tabs. Your experience is worse, frustrating even, especially in POE 1 where there's assloads of loot to store and sell. You are incentivized to buy.
