Shouldn't even have to.

GGG Creates a problem. Like.. adding in hundreds of maps. And then they sell the solution, a new map tab to store those maps.

Predatory, manipulative way to make money.

Sure. They created the game and the map system and with the created system it's better to have a map stash than not, but you don't need a map stash until the late end game when you already should know if you like the game and would spend money to enjoy it for longer.
They need to make money and can't develop purely on air and love - and no, the "skin" sales are not enough. This is not "Genshin Impact" where you have sooo many whales spending hundreds of bucks every time they login.

Lol. See, Even when you're blatantly being taken advantage of, you'll still defend it.

Plenty of ways to make money that don't involve doing shit like this.

When was the last time you played a game that emphasized fun and enjoyment, over predatory money making tactics like this? Do you even remember?

That YOU make it a big deal to pay for a stash tab you only NEED when you are in the late end game and grind a lot in a F2P game - is not the "gotcha" you think it is, anyway.

Remember? I basically only play games without actual predatory money-making tactics. Do you want an entire list? Probably not, that wouldn't fit your narrative.

Map tab should've been included with all EA supporter packs or should've been released within EA as an MTX from the start. Period.

They were with your 300 coins you got. Use those coins.
My goddness with the entiltement here, some of you need to come back to reality and stop coming up with conspiracy theories, you're just dead wrong. Everyone knew the Map Stash was coming, if other tabs are not free, what make you believe this one would be free? They even released it during a sale, how scammy is that am I right? so stupid. Also you got 300 points when you got access, it's your fault if you spent all of them and didn't kept a handful for future purchases. Take responsability and stop blaming others.

That's the point. They give you the bare minimum, and they charge you for convenience.

That is predatory. There's a reason countries are looking to outlaw it.

Designing an entire game around a crafting system and economy, and then selling you a bunch of stash tabs to make that entire system more convenient, is a perfect example of a game looking to extract money from players.

And the addictive aspects of the game reinforce it.

People get stuck in video games for thousands of hours because of it.

Respectfully, I think you need to cut yourself off from this game & find another addiction. This is going to be a F2P seasonal game, and this is one thing I definitely don't see them changing for the sake of not bankrupting the studio.

You can save yourself alot of long term frustration with your disagreement on their monetization.

Why do you assume I'm addicted to this game? lol

All of my posts are asking for the game to respect players time. Telling you the reasons why I don't play. There's literally thousands of people on the forums over the last few weeks doing similar.

No game company needs microtransactions to survive. They're a choice. Game companies for decades made games devoid of any microtransactions. Diablo 2 itself, the game this is based on, didn't need them at all.

If the game needs predatory microtransactions to survive. It's not a good game. Ask for it to be better.

Apologies if it's not the case - I just get the impression based on some of your statements seeming more emotional than logical.

On the need to monetize - again, all stash storage is server side instead of client side. Do you understand what I mean by that?

Hi everyone,

Yup, everything is emotional and illogical when you don't understand it, or the point being made.

I also understand. I don't understand why it matters.

There's a dozen ways you could tackle storage. Just because they give you the ability to reconnect to a game and your loot is still there, doesn't mean it should cost you money.

I play lots of games where If I crash, it doesn't matter. You can just load up and continue losing nothing. None of them need a server.

Here's the thing that'll blow your mind.

You might not care if GGG uses predatory microtransactions and design, and you might be willing to cut them a break because the game is enjoyable for you.

That doesn't however mean it's not predatory.

It is however, an issue for lots of other players. Because it detracts from the game in multiple ways. Usually in terms of quality, or enjoyment.

Aha... China did what? Are you mixing up general gambling laws with PoE stash tabs?

You know, the PoE China Client has actual Pay2Win things in the store...
the more you know.

There's quite a few things they outlawed, and they're looking at more.

Mechanics that incentivize people to spend money, are being outlawed.

I wonder what an entire game based around a crafting/economy is considered, when they make the experience awful for those that don't buy tabs?

Ha... yeah... sure. The Chinese government forgot to look into PoE, a game that is held by Tencent, a company that works closely with the Chinese government.

You are not forced to buy the map tab. There is literally no need to hold on to every single map tier your are not running, so you could manage your maps with a quad tab:

or if you don't want to spend any money on tabs in a regular-sized tab:
