I joined in 2013, and I remember Ben was already one of the best players (we still had race seasons at the time.) Unlock your made in 2024 profile before leveraging criticism on the undisputed GOAT of PoE1. Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.

Other than his terrible editing skills (Let the video breath a half second after a jump cut, Boss!) he's correct on most of his assessment.
Too bad most of the other Streamers are GGG honeymooners. Most of them just started a few months ago, and GGG are masters of the hype. They don't know the amount of disappoint and failed promises that GGG hasn't even bother to try to live up to. Yes, yes, I've never reached endgame myself, despite having played since 0.8c but that's because of my stubbornness to try and make my own builds work (They don't) or playing the new Leagues for a couple of weeks and then getting bored with how simplistic and pointless the mechanic is. And who thought Crafting made sense in a Loot Based ARPG? Even in Diablo 2, the alleged GGG inspiration, the Runes ADDED to the well rolled RNG loot you FOUND. Anyway, in the end, yes Ben is right about the state of the game. Tedious is a good word for PoE2. Could it get better? I hope so. But I got suckered by the hype before (Looks at the PoE2 'melee' system...) |

I agree with Ben in a lot.
The map layouts are just horrible! You simply can not deny that... Having only one movement skill is ass. Being fast is fun and also mandatory if the maps are this gigantic! Most Loot is inside breaches... also all endgame mechanics are worse then in PoE1. Crafting? lmao |

While Ben has some good points, I find myself agreeing more with Quin on this one.
If anything, it’s POE 1 that feels outdated, while POE 2 is clearly the future. POE 1, while currently the best ARPG, suffers from dated graphics, clunky animations, and a lot of bloat. These issues aren’t likely to improve significantly at this point. On the other hand, POE 2 looks and plays like a modern game, with stunning visuals and smooth gameplay.
