Why POE2 is dying

Unfortunetly you dont understand how game releases work.

When an early acces launch has such a huge success that they reach almost 600k players on the first day, and then go into winter holiday where alot of people are away from home and playing less or not at all, there is no universe where the number of players arent going to be less.

Please provide one example of a game launch that looks different.

People play games even more during this time lol, everyone's at home during the holidays.

And your "600k huge success" of players is most likely never happening again on this game btw.

Every point you made gets negated with sensationalist statements like, "PoE2 is dying".

It's not.

It's holding numbers stronger than most full releases for longer than most full releases.

Yes, those numbers will dip. That is the arpg nature.

Until GGG releases new stuff. Then the numbers go up again.

Spark light weaver since day 1, done with all content, currently making my sanguinist work

So you just casually runs a build that contends with all the current upsides of the game release and very few of the downsides, and you response is "don't change anything".
Great stuff.

Go roll a warrior and play melee, and come back to me.

I could have even advocated to nerf ES builds, but I didn't, I'd rather they fix life and melee.
You've got it good. A lot of people didn't go meta spark meta ES.
But I guess you presume we all play your build?

I presume you also play 5+ hours a day, and good the upside of the economy.
Try broadening your perspective.

So you need to frame feedback constructively instead of dismissing people based on the characters they play as well as calling people bootlickers

I’m not sure why anyone is even entertaining feedback from this account as you have now made multiple posts with the same passive aggressive tone. Something Johnathan says he won’t even give the time of day if it’s framed in this manner

Assuming what people do is also something that has no bearing ok anything and only serves to antagonize and dismiss others your posts are getting reported

You're comparing a PoE league that got delayed and abandoned for 6 months then blah blah blah

Nice copium , what happened with player retention on the last league occurred every single league for all of this game existence

Yeah? Your point? This is literally the game's business model. People are done with a league max 1 month into it. Most are done by week 1-2 with all their goals and quit till the next one. You simply don't understand a thing about PoE's player retention at all.

I am understanding the model better than you obviously , i wanted you to say it yourself . So hear me out here : if it is okay & successful for PoE 1 to have most people gone 1 or 2 weeks after content release ... then WHY THE FUCK are you all doomin & gloomin DOZENS of threads as "POE 2 dead bc players quittin lulz" . You farmed the new content and quit , same as usual , so for GGG it's mission accomplished !

It's laughable. You know nothing. It's clear for everyone who is here long time. Stop embarrassing yourself.

I have no idea if it's dying or not, but everything else is on point. The game is nowhere near poe1 in terms of fun, it's bloated, tedious and meaningless in many aspects. I totally believe GGG can fix everything but first they need to WANT those fixes. So posts like this are necessary no matter what all the fanboys think.
I realized quickly that PoE 2 melee needs more rapid cast crowd control skills even if they change nothing else.

Things like
- Diablo 4 Stomp
- Charge that can push small mobs
- Something like Yrel’s Righteous Hammer from heroes of the storm.
- Possibly hyper armour on long windup channels.

This alone would make a huge impact on build diversity and QoL.
The balancing process might yeild good results by itself, but that won’t fix the boring skill rotation on Mace and everything is going towards 1-button zoom builds again
I have a lvl 90 gemling and lvl 93 deadeye, I played the crap out of this game since launch. I have experienced getting one shot, losing my map, my materials, my exp, etc. however, not once did I blame the game for any of that, instead I got to work getting tankier, increased my evasion, heath pool, worked on my build, learned from my movement mistake, learned how to deal with certain mobs better, etc. my first instinct was to improve my gameplay and my character instead of coming to the forums asking to make the game easier.

I having said that, I think I have put enough time and seen enough content and I’ll probably stop playing for a bit until something new arrives. To me, I think this is very normal for this type of game. People will play the crap out of it and move on only to come back when something new arrives. It’s a repetitive hack and slash. It’s not going to keep anyone’s attention for a long time. And it depends on how much time one has put into it as well. Someone who can only play a few hours a day is probably still weeks or months away from the point I’m at.

Even if there is a drop in player count, I would deem it normal for this genre. I mean, look at poe1 league start data charts.
The only thing that matters is player retention between leagues. Since there haven't been any leagues, there's no way to tell.

But let's not beat around the bush here. Personally, I don't like PoE 2 and I wish they would focus on PoE 1 more.
Now, clearly, they've been neglecting PoE 1 for PoE 2, so it certainly seems like it's an either-or thing. And if that's the case, yeah, I would prefer for PoE 2 to die and for them to focus on PoE 1 again.

Is that selfish? Sure. But at least it's honest.
