performance was far better in PoE1.

oh we got a comedian ove here

oh we have non-zero irrational glazers over here. You are so harmful to the game, you have no clue.
I get where you are coming from but blanket statements of "Game Kill PC" are ridiculous and so easily refuted that they fail horribly at the goal of improving the game for everyone.
I am running a mid range PC(Ryzen 5 and 4070)and both PoE 1 and 2 both run great at mid range temnps on mid range fan speeds so that's a no on the GAMEKILLPC!!1!!!11

That's far more than mid-range. I don't understand if you are trying to be funny or are just incredibly inarticulate.
Its funny because I gave you the reason your having issues and you still insist on instead ignoring that and arguing with people.

Cannot be helped.

Please go away. You are less useful than a mosquito.

Speaks volumes about you. I have given you the literal solution to your problem but instead you are chatting shit to people.

Enjoy your IT issues then I guess. I'm only a fullstack software developer, what do I know.

I was getting PC shutdowns and temps were only 80-90c for both CPU and GPU.

Ended up logging temps during a boss fight using Explosive/Gas Grenade combos and noticed that there is a GPU Hotspot sensor which was above 100c for 3min straight.

Have changed from Explosive Grenades and had no issues besides Lightning Runes in Ultimatum and The Azak Bog (burning ground everywhere) hitting 110c. I just run away from the animations and temps drop quickly.

Please kindly go away, you have not helped anyone, and based on the evidence you never will.
I've posted this before in another thread, but I found it helped me quite a bit with this genuine issue. Once POE-2 is started, open the Task Manager, right click the app (POE-2) and select Details. Once in the next screen, right click the app again and choose Set Affinity, then limit the number of CPU cores the game can use to about 60% (ex: you have five cores, allow POE-2 to use 3 of them).

Not only does this take a lot of pressure off your system, but if the game crashes it is likely to not hang your PC as well, allowing you to just kill the app alone.

Hope this helps.

That's not a solution, you have never provided any solution, tinkering with MOBO Bios isn't going to yield what my in-game performance needs.

You have 0 clue what you are talking about, and being a straight nuisance, let the GGG devs handle it, if you really want to stroke your ego on an anonymous internet forum with regurgitating useless speculatory info, try a psych ward.
Also, your 13900k is well over game's frame limit to be needing to go past 50c, plus you are using an upscaler. Like ROFL this guy.

Your degree is useless.

Literally trying to workout if you are actually mentally challenged or just genuinely being a good troll.

DLAA isn't upscaling it's an AI based Anti Aliasing method. Game runs natively at 4k then throws some machine learning smoothness at jaggy lines in your frame before it's output to the display.

I'm not regurgitating anything, it's my professional opinion and experience and if it's wrong I stand by it and admit it.

Game engine's frame limit is well over my refresh rate of 240Hz so I have no idea what you're trying to get at with that.

I'm being completely genuine here when I say this to you. I answered you genuinely when i gave you a solution, nothing and I mean nothing is going to make the game run cooler for you unless you limit your frame rate or cap your CPU speed with AVX instruction workloads or even disable some cores in task manager for the poe2 exe.

You can think I'm talking shit all you want. At this point you are just making yourself look bad when I am offering you help.
