PoE 2 is cooking GPUs and CPUs Actually Dangerous to PC.
" Vsync is absolute trash and should never be turned on ever |

" WOW that's high. |
|
" Agreed, why not make GGG just focus more on optimization, performance was far better in PoE1. |
|
" Agreed POE1 performance is better but its still trash compared to any other game tbh. Their code and performance has always sucked. |

" " Hmmm.... Out of curiosity, what generation of i9 do you both have? Because if it's a 13th gen i9, the problem might be your CPU. https://youtu.be/oAE4NWoyMZk https://youtu.be/OVdmK1UGzGs Since the problem with affected Intel processors is a progressive degeneration, it might have been working fine up until now, and have only recently started failing. I'm also on team AMD, BTW, and also not having issues. Stay sane, exiles! Last edited by NicknamesOfGod#1810 on Dec 12, 2024, 11:16:34 PM

" Your i9 is broken, not the game. The game has similar performance to PoE1 and if you run it unlimited it will relatively optimally use all resources with few bottlenecks. Back in my day (yes I am old man), PCs were expected to run at 100% GPU and 100% CPU without a single issue. And generally they are still expected to. If your system shuts down or crashes due to the high load, you should check your hardware and send whatever is not functioning properly for RMA if you still have warranty. For reference, PoE1 crashed my motherboard (a very expensive ROG motherboard) and I had to send it back to ASUS to get it replaced. I've been running PoE2 unlimited since it came out and I thus far had only 1 game crash and no system crashes. That said, you don't need vsync and you should never use vsync as it's a very dumb system that has disastrous performance impact. Instead, you should just use the frame limiter and lower the framerate to either 60fps or 90fps depending on your preference. Fear the army of dots:

Ok last post for me in this thread and I'll give a proper answer this time.
The engine more than likely has a heavy AVX workload and AVX creates a lot of heat. So much so that your motherboard will probably have a AVX offset under CPU settings. If you can't keep your machine cool running AVX you NEED to reduce the offset and voltage for AVX workloads. I do stand on my point that it's not the game engines fault, AVX rasterization is for cool kids. This post was sponsored by me.

" You are completely clueless, read more of the replies, this is a general trend. Stop putting out obsurd arguments like "Your i9 is broken, not the game". The intention is to have a better game for everyone, what are you even trying to defend here?? |

intel CPU cooking? NOOOO
btw my 12 y/o rig is not cooking, check your 'water cooler' lol Last edited by AintCare#6513 on Dec 12, 2024, 11:27:24 PM
