PoE 2 is cooking GPUs and CPUs Actually Dangerous to PC.

Enable Vsync.. problem solved. You do not need super high FPS for an ARPG

Bro. If someone has a high end cpu and gpu, they probably have at least a 144hz monitor, and maybe a 240hz monitor. A Vsync to reduce the fps is basically the full potential of the hardware lol

isn't CPU made to work? if your CPU is cooking under load you need to reduce V and boost. AMD is known to overdo it because most ppl don't use their CPU with 100% uptime but in bursts, i guess intel followed suite in recent years, but they used to be better than that

there is simply no need for a game like poe2 to tax hardware like this. as you can see it is leading to instabilities and crashes.
high cpu usage is one thing, but hitting 100% on every available cpu thread on a regular basis can't be intended. not even cyberpunk 2077 on max settings in the DLC area is this hard on the CPU.

diff game diff needs man just look at factorio/df/ONI all cpu hogs, and suppose they could of limit the core use leaving one empty but if that was an issue your system will be farting not CPU cooking, its just bad settings on the user end

CPU Stuttering have been a looong issue with PoE 1 , so I have no faith at GGG being able to fix this problem given it plague their brand new engine / new code / new game as well . They are clueless on fixing this .

its the same engine man

And that's the fucking problem : PoE 2 was the opportunity for them to go fresh and fix long term technical issues . The excuse "PoE 1 is a 12 years bloated mess so it's normal it's unstable" is no longer possible here , they choose to keep rolling with these technical issues .

i mean imo engine is pretty effient at least on my end. good cpu and a very old gpu and i'm cruisng here at 2k res. couldnt ask for more. its just cpu heavy engine, not sure about details but its not hard to imagine with all the calcs this game does man

edit- on the second thought i used to have dps drops in towns and with movable enviroment like the last map in act2 so its prob something to do with animations ? whihc i agree would be a bit odd to use cpu and not cuda for that

Idk, OP should provide more info and maybe some basic graphs at least to prove their point. Seems fine on my graphs.

Everything is stock, no undervolting or overclocking.
3080 non-ti
5700x3d
64gb ram.
fps unlocked, everything maxed out, dlaa on, small recording is going on background with 2 monitors online and browser stuff on background, not something extra ordinary or out of bonds of average PC user. You can see graph spikes on the start, thats when i enter the map, and ran half of it for some action to be captured on the graphs. Game have some "lag spike" alike things (not fps, but ping) that may happen sometimes occasionally, but nothing deadly or cpu/gpu/psu cooking.

When you get lags in this game it's either CPU stuttering , especially on low-end PCs and high-end Consoles , or you get lag latency due to servers struggling . Both of these problems are way too common & crippling for too many people , and it's GGG fault entirely .

these stutters are not common for me at all after i upgraded CPU, and mostly due to me being on wifi repeater out of all things. i had worse ping adventures in poe1. like once a week i get kicked and lose a map, that's on GGG 100%

There is no way to upgrade the CPU on a PS5 or XSX ... and we should not even consider that when we're talking about a 12 years old ARPG game engine . Since release i saw constant CPU stutters in Sekhema , Breach & so on . As for Ping Latency they are random but when they happen it's +1000 MS lag every 30s bare minimum ( during holidays it was half a dozen lags of +3000MS / minute ) .

If this is going to be long term issues beyond the first month(s) of EA , and it's likely to stay like this on Console , GGG will have trouble keeping players at 1.0 Launch .

well yeah consoles are a meme, always were. i don't even factor them in. and i never had such issue with latency here. sure during busy holiday time i get stutter a bit but not as much as what you saying
I'm just going to put this here. Call of Duty STILL runs on a modified Quake 3 engine. There is NOTHING wrong with using an old engine, things get improved all the time.
