PoE2: "Failed to connect to instance"

hmmm interesting i change the server to BR (sao paolo) and loaded up. this was posted by someone else earlier

I encountered the issue at Oghams manor where my game froze. I reinstalled the game and verified files and can not log into the character. I also tried to start a new toon and got the same error. I currently can not log into the game and makeing new characters just give me the opening cinamatic but as soon as I try to load the first level I go back to the log in screen and get told it could not connect to instance.

None of the fix actions listed in this thread did anything for me. I did discover I can create a hardcore player and continue without issue, but the second I die the problem persists as the character converts to standard.

Same issue here, picked up a gem and disconnected, now I cannot connect on any of my 3 chars, it's been about an hour and a half now since I could change zones.

Add me to the list. I've re-installed, changed servers, tried the auto select server, created new toon, created hardcore toon. Nothing. I dont have a VPN to test that theory :(

Also having the same issue. hopefully there is a fix soon

Game has been fine for me since launch, until about 30 minutes ago. I lagged, got kicked out of the game, and when reloading I "cannot connect to instance".

I have tried all US servers and verified steam game files. All of my friends are playing so this doesn't seem to be affecting everyone, but it does appear that a decent amount of people cannot login at all.

Any fixes?

Found a workaround if you have the same issue. Downloaded a free vpn and set the vpn to another country. Was able to log into a new character at that point. Then logged into the main character that caused the problem, teleported back into town made a new instance to Oghams manor or whatever area you crashed from, waypointed there to set the instance. Then went back to town to log out. Turned off the vpn and logged back in normally and everything worked.

Guys I went to my outbound Firewall settings and made an exception for the POE 2 application, and now the game works fine.
