Absolutely disapointed -- This game is hard, and not in a fun way.
playing as an elementalist witch I've had 39 deaths and I cant even kill the level 6 boss (im level 9 now) and that is after about 8 hours playing. I'm not sure I'd die this many times in a whole league.
It takes forever to kill anything, gems dont level up, nothing drops including gold. I've had one transmutation drop but it didn't give me anything useful. I've been playing since open beta and I do recall how hard POE1 was but this is insanely hard when you hit like a wet bus ticket and have no movement skills in all honesty and I'm sick of dodge rolling all the time. this isn't fun, it also hurts my wrist having to hit the keys so much. I'll try another toon and persevere a bit but I think you might have lost me to both games as I am so, so disappointed and feel totally devastated that something i was so looking forward too hasn't been fun. The game looks great and lots of good quality improvements but if it isn't fun to play it isn't fun! IGN: Keewee

People who are not having fun spend nothing on MTX.
Ask Darkfall, or a number of the other "uber hard" games as a service who failed because not enough people want the hard difficulty, ask them how profitable it is to run a service where people are not having fun. Why can there not be an easier path and a harder path? Is it such a bad thing to make it fun for more people? I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.
Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play. |

*Coppied From a Comment i posted in the Steam discussions*
Ursprünglich geschrieben von ********: So far i enjoy the Game very much, my biggest dislike is the Gem System, the Supports being locked to only one of a kind, goes against the Whole Idea of the System. Difficulty was a Hit and Miss so far, very much gear dependent, What is to be expected. Still think for a good first leveling experience its a bit overtuned, its spongy, to much mandatory rolling arround. Thats Complaining on a high niveau tho, everything else is just realy nicely done. ** Have to add to my Previous Statement that as a Bow user i feel like i dont like any of the Skills i get to choose, i basically just defaulted to Poisonburst arrow to stack poison while i dodge arround. I dont even Bother using all the Skill and upgrade Gems atm, Skill gems are Weapontype Bound or demand going more into Strength or Intelligence, Which i already do i play Armor Evasion atm. The second skill i use is Vine Arrow to slow em down. It could get more fun with more support gem slots, so far im up to gem level 7 and still didnt get a third slot *sigh*. Its a drag, it slowly bums me out. I kept Stacking extra Damage on my Bow with Runes and crafting, Level 24 in a level 22 Area and it takes just so long to kill stuff, Im not exited for new Bosses ... i dread the moment i face a Boss cause it'll be another Sponge with Insta Kill Mechanics. I can of course do em, but it slowly gets to the point where i just dont want to engage em. The Loot is mostly White 1-3 items per pack i dot down(mostly 1). I look forward to the first Patches coming in, cause i think it will be alot of needed balancing. I still hope ya all have more Fun then me right now. |

Please, stop trying to face tank a boss, this ISN'T PoE 1, almost by definition. Op and a couple other special ones say *too hard*, and here I am in Act 2, died 0 times on the final Act 1 boss, cool fight, not hard or easy, just fine, and died a couple times before that because I was careless. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just another videogame.
It's really starting to grind my nuts the whole *game not piss easy = bad, or bad design* brain rot, just go play Cookie Clicker or something instead of blaming others for not being able to do something that is perfectly doable even for someone like me who's not an ARPG vet or even good at reflex based action combat. Personally, so far, POE2, difficulty wise, has been a SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENT from PoE 1, a game which I tried to get into several times, but couldn't because it literally puts me to sleep. And no, it's not Dark Souls, please, stop the copium. |

+1 OP
I'm halfway through act 1. I think, right now PoE2 isn't my game. I don't like Souls games, and I feel like I play an Isometric Souls game. I do not like this. I get some D4 vibes with the skills, and it feels not good to me. I disliked D4 and problably will dislike PoE2 if it stays what it is now. Pros: - Nice graphics - slower paced so far that PoE1 - Skill Gem system seems nice - no more TP Scrolls - Persistent Minions respawn, I like this idea - Okayish droprate of currency Items, I was able to craft a tiny bit to get rid of white items Cons: - Difficulty ramp up is fine, but it feels too much. Getting one or two shotted from a rare or boss is just no fun for me - Constant focus is needed, you can't play if you are distracted or tired. Its draining, this might get better later on, but is a turn off in early game for me - dodge roll is fine, but dependency on it sucks real bad - Minions AI and enemy targeting feels real bad, whats the point of brittle skelleton decorations named a minion? They get ignored and the mostly defenseless Witch needs to run in circles and rely on dots to scrape by. I guess, if the game stays in its current direction, it will be no game for me. I played PoE1 for thousands of hours over the years since 2014. I'm curious how the games path will end up. █▀▀▌ █▌█▀▀▀ █▀▀▌█▄░▌

It's a fun game, but this isn't Path of Exile. I will play it, but they NEVER should have called it Path of Exile 2. It should have been a completely new, standalone game. Sad. It seems like a really missed opportunity because if they had called it something different and been frank with the difficulty, people would have played it.
ALSO, OMEGALUL if they think I want to slog through the challenging campaign every 3-4 months. I don't see how "leagues" will be as appealing in this game unless they add some insane power to blast through the tedious acts. ProbablyGettingNerfed - L100 Occultist
Vinktarded - L100 Pathfinder GoogleDiversityHire - L100 Necromancer 3.13 was the pinnacle of PoE. IVYS+1 Gang 4 Life. |

I'm extremely new to the series and died a few times until i had to recognize his patterns then killed him no problem. I disagree big time i think to many games are just to easy to play. So far the difficulty imo is perfect. I think they could make a casual mode if they wanted to but leave this mode as is. This has more potential than just GOTY and messing with the difficulty wouldnt be good just my opinion. I came to a game like this because i was tired of how easy it is to pass through other games i hope they dont change this.

not that disappointed as OP, but they got a point there...
first... positives: I like the visuals very much, transports the feeling ('better move with caution!') very well. The skill gem system feels good! Not too complicated and well explained. The hodded one and TP skill. Almost all texts have voiceover, if not all. not so positive in my experience: That Joe-Shely-moment someone got when they placed the well in town to fill up the potions... What is this? What happened to the good old 'enter town to refill'? It just makes no sense, but to frustrate people who forget to refill, having to go back? about controls: they just feel bad. I understand that this is also a console game and controls have to work there as well, but this is just clunky. Characters just move constantly in all given directions while me trying to micromanagement the movement and skills. It's not adding to the fun. Back on the wider approach, my curve was like this: - Start Sorceress as class I really was excited about, wanting to try. - Get frustrated, go back to old meta class Witch and feel slightly better (so much for 'this game is not PoE 1'). - With time comes better adaption of gameplay and better damage. - Still is a very slow paced game, I move very cautiously (which is ok). - Getting better... getting more powerful. ....and got hit by a sh*tload of damage with the next boss which kills me instantly. Balance is not right in some encounters, even if you learned the patterns. In the current state the game is more comparable to 'No Rest for the Wicked' than D4/PoE 1. I hated 'No Rest for the Wicked' so much, it was just unfair trying to pretend it was 'hard'. I like souls games, but I feel PoE should not be one of them. First there was complexity in PoE1, making it a 'non casual' game. Then there is PoE2 removing some of the complexity and replacing it by unfair game mechanics? but that's what EA is for... test out... listen to feedback... and hopefully tweak the game. So far it looks like GGG want to please only streamers and 1% of top elite.
Rest can die 999999x times and just quit. |
