Absolutely disapointed -- This game is hard, and not in a fun way.

Thank you, OP. I am in that boat with you. There's a reason D4 has adjustable difficulty levels.

I'd just like to play POE2 super casual and watch the uber difficulty / challenge mode people do their thing too. We should all be able to enjoy it.

No, hard disagree. Could make the same argument for games like Elden Ring or Dark Souls, it's bullshit. Not every game needs to be catering toe veryone.

OK, it is still buggy, expected that. But to try to level with no gear drops, no way to upgrade character to do more damage is terrible.

i spent hours trying to get thru levels and was always stopped at not enuf dps , because of no gear.
As a mercenary with 100 gold,, cant buy an upgrade in town, fighting bosses with flasks empty. early on no regen, not sure how better it is later in game.
As a level under 5 to fight boss mobs with 5-10 spawns during battle is crazy.
No regard for ool who want to enjoy the game but not much thought was put into, or tested to see what it is like. Worst development turned over to mass players I have ever seen and i have played many.

heck , mercenary map is bugged , cant even get to the boss mobs, cant get thru the red barrier. The checkpoint is after the bridge and cant get to it.

So i will try other classes and hope they make changes to at least progress to lvl 10 or so so players have a better fell for the mechanics.

This is NOT a DPS game! If your approach to the enemies is more DPS that is the issue.. that ingrained POE1 pattern is what is stopping you. This is not a DPS dispute game.

I got to the praetor with the club that I found on the beach.. the very first item. I just rolled a magic modifier on it.. only that. It is a game about attacking ONLY at moments when the boss had executed a movement that makes it vulnerable
Im a casual player, and was looking forward to this. I came into aRpgs late, played Diablo, LE, Grim Dawn etc. Was looking forward to a little "deeper game", more so than LE and Diablo.
This game isnt catering to get people into PoE, this gameplay with the dodgeroll is just boring. Mobs are sponges, and to spend 20 minutes finish a boss fight is just to much. I just dont have time for this, it just dont appeal to start to game with this. And no, its not diffecult, its boring. Why would I roll around minutes after minutes, and backtrack and constantly feel like im underleveled. I finished act 1, but its not tempting to get back in

The player base will fall back here, its just to tedious for most people. But it will be fun watching now and then on twitch and youtube, a little while, cause that gets boring too, its just to slow.
POE1 was shit at the end of the campaign and at the endgame,
with the idiotic one-shot-out-of-nowhere-deaths.

Somehow POE2 is managing to be even shittier, by bringing those horrible mechanics at LEVEL1. How the F*** is it possible to die 6 times in 6 minutes, in the first BOSS (B/W)ITCH of the game ?

Chris, I only have 2-3 hours to play today. I can't devote my whole day to this.
This is not my job, I'am not RAXX or ZIZARAN, a streamer, ...etc
WHO is this game made for?
I am enjoying it. I like games where you need to actually play based on the game's mechanics and not just spam.
I like Souls games too though. :P

Just for the record I died a bunch of times also...but I did not take it personally. I just went back and figured out what I did wrong the time before.

I tell you what, go through the threads looking at the people who are saying its not fun for them, the ones you are essentially telling to get out and play something else, and look at their supporter badges, add all that up.

Then think about how you are going to fund that hardcore people only game service... not the game, the game service, without casual players who are enjoying it too.

Free 2 Play games require people in the games, having fun and buying from the store.

There is a reason the list of "hardcore only" online games in the MMO / ARPG genre is pretty small, its expensive and it has a relatively lower player base who traditionally spend less per person. I know this because I've been involved in the F2P business for a couple of games with large publishers in producing the metrics for the in game stores etc.

I think it's some what telling that your attitude is that you dont want anyone else to have fun, just you.
I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.

Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play.
I think we shouldn't judge this early, but I feel this might be the slowest ARPG I have ever played and I think I almost played them all (except D4 because I don't like throw away money).
For this slow pace to feel good, a lot has to change, at least in act 1 where I am now. I wonder how long it will take for people for the novelty to wear off and will start looking for the fun. I predicted this at the second ExileCon, I'm just sad it is really this slow and bullet spungy. Most people play ARPG's to be powerful, at least I am. We'll see how it will be at endgame but so far Mercenary is already feeling like a hobo chore and I don't want to start this Act 1 over.

How in hell you manage to do that? You just sit standign in front of it and try to outdps it? That is a PLAYER issue not a game issue. That witch I defeated on the first go with my Bulldog on my lap trying to lick the keyboard at same time!

The un is there in the CHALLENGE. This game was made for people that feel fun on overcomming.. not on seeign explosion. This is not a game for people that like to watch michael bay movies.
