Merging Accounts

update - after about 10 minutes, I re-launched via Steam client and the subaccount drop down is now available showing both my Sony account and original Steam-created account.

So just maybe give it some time. Classic impatient Andy here

I agree, did you hear back? I've now but 30 hours onto my steam account with no points so I'm worried, as the other sub account has them

Guys If you can switch between the 2 accounts when logged then they are considered as subaccounts probably. In that case, you can launch the game and switch subaccounts In Game (same as on the website) to select the one with all your microtransactions and play from there.

If you already started a character on the wrong account, I suggest you to go to the one with your cosmetics and reroll directly.
Not sure the support will help you to transfer any cosmetics or characters for one account to the other and even if they do, it will take a long time as they are flooded by requests now.. (more than 4 days of waiting for me, just for 1 click to unlink Steam and still no answer).
By the time you got an answer, you would already level a new character.

Also to help you, you can ask someone to help to transfer your stuff from your first character to the new one.. at least it will make it easier and faster to progress.

Nothing yet but I’m patient :)

I know that just starting a new character is a viable option, but I already sinked more than 20 hours into my current character. Starting a new one would just hurt. I don’t know why there are subaccounts at all. From my point of view it is confusing and counter intuitive. Since this problem seems to occur on a wider audience I assume that something is going to happen. Either be it a faq entry which says we can’t do anything about it or an account merge. I don’t even want to have two accounts. Let’s see what happens.

Same happened to me as well. Has anyone this happened to try to trade on the site yet? The reason I ask is because I listed some items last night on the new poe2 acct. but on the trade site it has my original account as the seller. I assume I will not get any whispers or group invites because of this.

It's a good advice but the problem is one account have the old microtransactions and the other have the 300 currency from the poe2 supporter pack.

Hi Grinding Gear support,

I am having the same issue as in this post but I have patiently waited so that I didn't screw up my accounts.

The process I followed was as follows -

On Monday (Dec 9) morning, I jumped onto the Pathofexile website. I used a POE logon from 2019 I created to play POE 1. I had my password reset but my email address are still the same on POE.

** I purchased the supporter pack and was informed I would get a redemtion key for access to the steam client to download the POE 2 game within Steam.

I logged into my steam account and validated the key and downloaded the 86.4gb game. Going great...

I then tried to log back into Pathofexile to link my steam account and my POE account. I just kept going round in circles with POE not seeming to know I had already downloaded the game and I wanted to link accounts. A request for help was provided and I managed to log back into my POE account to complete the linking process. In my POE 1 account, I can see my POE 1 char ahnd history details. I can also see my 300 coins that I got from buying the supporter pack.

And now I received an email stating I need to link POE accounts, however, this will create the issues as in the previous posts. I have resolve that I have a second POE account that is actually linkeed to steam but I no visibilty or access credentials to that account. I am currently waiting patiently and I cannot play the game I purchased. :(

What I simply need is a one to one linkage. My old POE 1 account needs to be the POE account that gets linked to my steam account as passwords and email ids are known in both accounts. I then need that new POE 2 account deleted?

Will that result in me being able to initiate POE 2 from my steam client??
Will my POE 2 supporter coins be recognised in the old POE account as presently shown?
Will I finally be able to play POE 2 with access to my coins?

Yes but at least you can play, unlike many of us.

There are so many people having this issue that I think they will eventually address it somehow.. the question is when?
The support can't receive email anymore and nobody is doing anything so it might take a while...

For now, I think it's better to not use your coins until the situation with the support is back to normal. In the meantime, at least you can still play so enjoy it for those who can't.

I thought they will merge into 1 account so I can switch from xbox to steam. I hope to get back my poe2 character keep the stash tabs I bought. I contacted support no response back yet.... I've been bummed out about it.
