The Self Found League

I'm not the least bit interested in racing, especially in their current format. I also couldn't see the point of a 'temporary' self found league. That said, according to:

Oh well that's disappointing.. It sounds as though it will be plain default and hardcore ladders.

So... they finally get around to adding new leagues and they refuse to add the two most desired ones. Welp... so long, PoE. It used to be fun, but it hasn't been fun in a while and now I've lost faith in the developers' intentions.

I thought I checked all Chris's posts in the announcement thread about the new leagues. Could well be me missing it, but I couldn't see that quote, or that information, in an announcement which is why I copied the reddit post and posted it as an answer to EndOfEnds post in the thread quoted by Kellog.
My apologies if Chris had posted the info here before I posted that from reddit.


Couple of things that worry me about this self found league thread:-

1) 32 pages and no comments by the devs, but lack of dev comment since OB seems to be common.

2) I hope I'm remembering this wrong, but I believe in an old post about custom leagues, the main rule GGG had was that NO league could have easier/improved rules. Any rules for the custom leagues had to increase the difficulty.

So if this is the case, then I can see no way of us getting a self found league that would work.

wow, i just got an email from GGG saying that i can now use paysafecard to pay for items on their ingame shop, because SOOO many people requested it and feedback is soo important etc etc.

guess voting with your money is the only option we have left.
i spend 120$ on this game already, until they deliver they won't see another cent from me.

I don't think it's fair or accurate to make assumptions about their intent with regard to things like this based on that scenario.

In the end, GGG is a business and they have to make money not only to further develop the game but simply to keep it running in the state it's in already. I have absolutely no problem with them finding ways to broaden the base of people who can support them and soliciting feedback on the ways they find to do so. It doesn't mean anything with regard to whether or not they view suggestions such as this one favorably.

Believe me, I understand frustration, but I just don't think your post is a fair one, shrinkmaster.

of course "introducing self-found league" and "enabling paysafecard as payment option" are in no shape or form related to each other.

i'm perfectly fine with gaming companies making money from the products they develop.
also i will support worthy products whenever possible (recently spend 500$ on camelot unchained kickstarter), but currently i see a huge discrepancy between my wishes and development choices and in this case i will vote with my wallet.

i'm not self-centred enough to think that my wishes must have priority over other people's problems (like fps problems etc).
i just think that a self-found league would be "easy" to implement after some brainstorming and that it would satisfy a lot of us, paying customers.

also i was frustrated that cut-throat league gets mentioned by chris while he completly ignores self-found league. this thread is 33 pages long and has not a single developer comment in it.
in its current state path of exile is well worth the 120$ i already paid, but not more.

As they have otherwise already positively commented on the idea of a Self Found League in other dialog, I don't really think it's necessary for them to plop into this thread just to comment on it. They are busy. They have no doubt seen this thread, including past comments like mine. If they thought my comments were insufficient, they would have added something.

Game companies have to be very cautious about making any kind of statement even vaguely representing a committment. So. They're not gonna.

Would definitely love if they add this. Im enjoying playing default as it is, but some variety would never hurt and id certainly love to try it.
Especialy having increased IIQ/IIR + your own, balancing your orbs because you know you wont get other from trading, crafting would also be a must (gdmn qq would be through the roof) .. needles to say, im hyped. Give us SF LEAGUE ! .. pretty please ;)
