The Self Found League

GGG could even have self found league as a paid league like 10 bucks. Then they would have more money to continue making the game everybody profits.

i would definitely donate more $$ for league where you actually craft items, where there are no bots and multiboxers, where you dont have to have one eye on trade chat and one on game, where getting gear would be fun, while you know, killing mobs, and not just turning every orb you have in higher and higher orbs so you can one day buy something

vau, that actually sounds fun

There is one thing in this game I hate so much. Game is not rewarding because just like was Diablo 3, the game is balanced around trading, trading and unfortunetely trading again.

I love this game, really! But I don't want to play a trading simulator game. It's just boring. And this is why D3 was not fun at the end.

So, maybe there is some people who like this kind of feature and I respect that. However, it's not the case for a huge amount of gamers.

Here is the idea : create a new league for people who want to play SELF FOUND. No trading (or only for items dropped while in a party with friends). And of course, a drop rate balanced for this mode.

You have nothing to loose doing that. Everybody would be happy.

Sorry if my english isn't perfect, it's not my native language.

Then don't trade.

They are also going to add custom leagues (though you will have to pay for them) where you can assign your own rules, in fact self found was literally the example they gave for it.
Hi, Fred,

Yes it was. And I welcome you to the discussion thread on he very league in question.

There's one fear that I have about private leagues: That they will be for 'a close knit group of friends'. That is, it won't be set up so that a person can run a public league for anyone to join that has the settings they want.

If that's not true and you CAN have a privately run 'public' league then honestly, I'm willing to convert this entire thing to "Please try to push forward private leagues."

If the only way I can play in a private league is to get close to someone or join a guild, I'd rather have a public option other than what we have now.
There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.

This game really isn't for people like that.

This game is for people who'll do the same area over and again because they know..., a Mirror can drop anywhere, anytime. - CharanJaydemyr
I would start playing this game again if the Self-found league did happen.. Til then PoE will not be played.

I agree with this sentiment. Self Found League should be fully open to everyone. I'd prefer it as a public / permanent league. If it has to be monetized somehow, that's fine, I guess.

One possibility... I'm making stuff up now... would be for GGG to create a notion of "Premium Leagues" that are permanent and public, but you are only allowed in if you have reached a certain threshold of lifetime microtransaction purchases. For example, you get access to the Premium Leagues if you have bought at least $25 in stuff from GGG. $25 used only as an example.

Any word on if this is going to happen?

However it seems that the mod pools for rare items are also balanced around trading, as even if you find loads of rare items, the odds of getting a good one are quite small. I guess the solution would be to buff orb drop rates substantially so that crafting is much easier to do.
