The Self Found League
" When I first looked at this response, the only thing I saw was "lol" (hadn't scrolled down yet). I immediately thought "What did I screw up this time?" hehe |

The only problem here is that dividing the community of players into a dozen or so different playmodes works great for a while, but a year or so into the game the players start complaining about not having enough players in their mode. The premise that one NEEDS to trade in order to play is faulty, because you don't need the best items the game offers in order to play. The fault of D3 is just that... you need (nearly enough) the best items to finish the game. Trading becomes essential.
I play solo... strictly solo. I don't even chat. The game will stays fun for me even with drop rates set by the mp standard because I don't compare my experience with those who choose to trade. |

" The designers have already signaled a plan for paid leagues. Diversification is therefore inevitable. Anyway, obviously this league notion is popular because there are players who find the current solo drop rates producing gear at a rate insufficient for the rate at which they wish to progress to new content. You, therefore, aren't really part of the league's target audience, although I suspect you would play in it, if it existed. --C |

Huge +1 for the self found league.
Aside from the fact this league would represent a challenge like no other in PoE, it would also solve many problems the game is currently suffering from, like horrible economy or lack of, non existant trading system, endless RMT's running the default league, orb hoarding and many many more. If this league gets implemented soon, I'll have a reason to play PoE again. |

Also note that dividing the playerbase really doesn't matter too much here. Many of the folks who are pushing for this probably never bothered with Trade so the economy won't notice them at all. A good few seem to be full on soloists so they weren't participating in the party system either. Without both, the community never knew they existed. Them leaving does nothing to hurt the old league.
Meanwhile, they stop making suggestions and complaints that seek to destroy the Trade system. They also will be more likely to leave suggestions that help Trade alone, letting Trade-friendly folks being able to craft the Trade leagues into something more supportive to their desires. It's solving the "what toppings should be on the pizza" issue by just buying more pizzas. There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.
This game really isn't for people like that. This game is for people who'll do the same area over and again because they know..., a Mirror can drop anywhere, anytime. - CharanJaydemyr |

" An excellent point. I'm one of those you're talking about as I neither trade nor party. As far as default and HC leagues are aware, I don't exist and therefore cannot be missed. |
