The Self Found League
" I would also definitely want to play a lot in such a league. It would be fantastic to depend only on gear found by oneself and have some currency and rare item drop frequencies increased to make up for it. That would give a chance to play with the currency and enjoy the crafting system! Big +1 from my side. |

I am with you guys. GGG needs to realize that because the game in online only, there is no way to make mods for it.
Most RPG games had mods made- some (like TL2) even very fast, so everyone could play the way they enjoy to. I have a feeling of a competition in POE, that I do not like. The chance I will ever have a good unique item - is almost not existing - so that the "big" gamers can feel that they are special. If many will have the same good item, it loss it "value" for them. Same with crafting, I rather save the low amount of orbs I have to use on trading, rather gambling them away trying to link items, or chancing them, extra. I am a casual gamer. I do not like farming for-ever, or spending hours on trading. But I am still a part of the POE gamers community - and I deserve to have fun - as much as anyone else. Yes, I would like to have (at some point) a 6L, and yes I would like to have the best Uniques for my build, and even more so - I would like to have 2 passive point for every level - capping at 120 passive pont at around level 58-60 (with tougher enemies), I hate Maps (on every RPG that has them). If this is what will make me happy - let me play it on a solo custom league. Making all this options possible should be very easy. In other games I used to ask the modders for a specific mod script, and they could make it in a few minute (ex: level cap = 150, 1.5 x experience. 25% more HP and Ele-Resist for enemies, 20% more damage for enemies. Done in 5 minutes). Some games had mods/tool that gave you the option to make a custom setting by yourself. And it was all made by non-pro community members - so for GGG it should not be a problem. As I said, I am a casual player, not a Pro, and not HC. I do like online trading, and upgrading/crafting. Now I can enjoy only the trading part, but not the upgrading/crafting one (also, there are some very useless recipes). GGG please make us a "noob/whining league" and give us back the fun-factor of specialising in Damage-passives (120 points), and of crafting - and I would give this game a perfect 10. If you think it is OP, please make the moobs harder/stronger - I do love a challenge. As many of you guys, I am not playing for a while as well. Tnx GGG for making the game, and for letting us play for free, you guys are awesome!!! Love this game - could love it more. |

That's what I'm talking about. This isn't JSUT for folks who hate trading. it's for folks that love it too. We're competing with each other for different game types. Any decision would end up with winners and losers.
Also you bring up a good mentality. The online nature makes MoDs not an option when Mods really help boost aRPGs. We can't have an offline league (no, don't talk about it.. it's a no, PERIOD. Kill all of the hackers in the world if you want one) but the League idea CAN allow the game to have Mods in some degree. Not WORLD CHANGING ones like turning the game into Pokemon, but we can have Leagues for soloists, leagues for PvP gankers, leagues for folks that want to max level in 2 days, leagues dedicated to Trading, leagues dedicated to Crafting, so on so on. GGG can keep an ear for the most desired leagues and make them, then open Paid Leagues so that ideas with smaller followings can make one of their own. There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.
This game really isn't for people like that. This game is for people who'll do the same area over and again because they know..., a Mirror can drop anywhere, anytime. - CharanJaydemyr |

What would actually be cool is a set of features one could choose, in a GUI, to create a complete hybridization of the game (as a league, of course). The HP the mobs have, the damage they do, the scaling of resistances, the looting options, trading options, drop rates, ad nauseum. It would require a sort of configurator on the backend that could compose the game into a league dynamically. I get the idea that something like that already exists. Seeing it work on the fly somehow, online order buys the league, league expires in N months without the participation of at least P players. Software on the backend would automatically generate sub forums, and so forth.

I would like to be part of this league too , sounds really intresting. No trading system at all. Even in parties the loot will stay on the floor before everyone just stop dpsing and run to pick it up. Characteristic of this league should be the slighlty better rng on orb drop rates , but slightly so game competition will be still on , then we are talking for the ultimate self found endless farming league of the history.
+1 Also there is a thread of an idea for solo league too take a look : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/310757/page/1 |

" Well I would suggest in the neighborhood of 100% IIQ and perhaps 200% IIR as a base peeameter for the league, just to start the conversation. Trading really is that good. You are giving up quite a lot. Trading is almost certainly worth more than the above two traits. |

THAT might be too high. Remember that gear still exists with IIQ/IIR.
Personally, instead of better LOOT drops, I'd rather have better access currency drops. That way instead of more 'rare drops' you get more Alchs for more Rare chances. If we're making loot drops to the point where getting a rare via drop is about as easy as Trading was, then we sort of ruined the point of the league. We're trying to get away from 'easy access to the best equipment' aren't we? (note not against an IIQ/IIR increase. just want to set the tone when it comes to how much of an increase it will be. There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.

My ideal league would be:
No partying No trading Dropping items on floor = destroy. I don't even mind if there aren't any bonuses to rarity/quantity, it would prove to be quite a challenging league if not. |
