The Self Found League
Nice idea. I would definitely use this league, if party play is not reduced in any way.

I would rather like a league with balancing between solo/party play for MF.
(For example /player 1-6) AND that the items drops are permanently account bound. If not this, SFL YES! IGN: Hydralin

I'm sure someone already said something similar, but:
If you are going to make a Self-found league, where you can't trade with anyone, and you have to play solo (let's put that restriction as well)....why not make it NOT be a league, but play entirely on the client? Basically, if the player wants, they can play entirely on the client (no internet connection) in this new "solo-league". Of course balance however you want. GGG don't really have anything to fear, because nothing goes to their server, so their "dont' trust the client" moto wouldn't really matter here (for example, you could play in this solo-league without using an account, just put up POE and play) Also no desync. I know there are likely hundreds of problems with this, and surely some people already posted similar stuff and it was already addressed and discussed....but meh fuck it I'll post it anyway |

gonzaw, Yes, actually I posted something about that. I basically said that it would be the self-found mode (SFM). And yes, playing off line would be amazing because it would completely remove desync issues. However, I don't know if this would allow the game to be more easily hacked for online play. I mean, who cares if they hack it for off-line play as long as it doesn't affect any other players? But, if it does affect the online part then I can understand. I just wish someone from GGG would post tell us what their future planes are for solo players.

" I'm sorry, but it seems you have a logical fallacy here. The fact that it's free-to-play should relate to it being off-line or the ability for players to hack the game. Perhaps you mean to say that GGG wouldn't be able to prevent them from cheating because they don't have the resources. Nevertheless, it shouldn't matter if someone hacks the offline game as long as the hacked character(s) are not able to be brought into a multiplayer mode. As far as what the developers have said, I don't know the specifics. I could see them saying that they don't have the resources to produce such a mode. I would really like you to quote the specific interview/statement that GGG gave, so that I could read/watch it myself. P.S. Two of the biggest advantages for the game being offline would be the removal of internet lag and desync. |

I would like this too.

" I agree with this guy. If it's basically a single-player game (maybe with online chat, if enabled (for that "Playing alone-together" feel), then there would be no reason not to allow it to be offline. You can't group, so you can't really show off to people, you can't trade, so it won't matter what you have. Cheating would be pretty much useless. The one reason they might not want a single-player mode in would maybe be...there's no reason to buy microtransactions. If that's the case, make the single-player version pay to get in. 20-30 dollars wouldn't be bad, and if anyone wanted to play for free, they have the multiplayer. |
