From 148k to 66k in two weeks

this league got boring really quick the progression feel bad.
so much work for a 3 months league.not much space for indy build.
I ended up delete all my character cuz i need a break from the game

In 2015 there where 1k players at one point. This drop off trend hasn't really changed much. I too was under the impression that people were leaving in droves until I looked up the charts over the years and they pretty much stayed the same. In 3.14 it is 155k to 95k, again in one month.

The game is not dead, however it suffering the fastest drops, by total numbers, and percent, of any of the last 4 leagues by a significant margin. That is simply an unarguable fact.

You only have to look at how steep the drop off curve is to see it's way more than previous leagues
Loot sucks.

I'm talking actual dropped items from the hundreds of thousands we plow through in a couple hours of mapping.

Make all the game changes you want, but when the ENTIRE reason you play an ARPG, (the loot) is becoming Diablo 3 levels of trash tier, more and more players will realize there isn't a reason to even play the maps they get; nothing cool or useful can drop.

You can't even boss farm in PoE. Want to run shaper? Good luck on the multiple layers of rng JUST to get to em. Elder? Uber elder? Legion / breach / abyss bosses? Beast bosses??

The loot sucks, you can't actually do boss runs even if you wanted to, and mapping has turned into a D3 arcade machine from red robins; monsters don't matter, you explode thousands, and maybe a chaos will drop so you can buy the item you want, because fuck you for wanting that item to actually drop.

There are many things to criticize this league about; lack of interesting drops from the Scourge mechanic to this league being yet another "zoom zoom go fast and ultimately die to one shot".

But anyone who is complaining about the lack of map drops simply does not know how to sustain their maps. You can't just alch a map and hope for the best.

You actually can - if you get to ~150+ scourge stacks in each map, alch and go handles the entire progression from A0 to A8 - this is the first league ever where I haven't had to buy maps from people at all, and didn't even need Zana missions. It has been the same for my wife, so it's unlikely we are both an outlier.

100% agreed
This league is all about end game scourged map, they are all fun and cool.

But the mechanics and low-mid progression of the league is so borin.

It's basically clear the same map twice with barely any reward and a meter always pratically full in the end with no more scourge mobs to kill.

(I can't count how many time I pop the scourge and fall in an empty world)
@GGG: As you consider what league to permanently retire from the game, I would like to nominate Scourge.

o Horrible and poorly-conceived loot mechanic

o Re-introduces bad mechanics such as backtracking for loot and one-shot monsters (does GGG ever learn from past mistakes or listen to its community?)

o Have fought exactly 1 league boss in over two weeks

o Far too often Scourge maps are mostly empty

No need to introduce Scourge into core game play. Let's just not talk about Scourge going forward, scrub it out of wikis, etc.

They were always gonna get burned on this league if they went in with what they did, its a pre 3.15 league design in a post 3.15 game, expedition had good pacing for the nerfs, scourge has good pacing for if it was 3.13 and we had juiced harvest and giga crafts to make.
