From 148k to 66k in two weeks

Well I play Standard and I LOVE it!

I got all the quality of life improvements and don't have to worry about the shitty league mechanic.

It's a pretty simple choice.

Yup. For standard ,after they fixed the map tab issues in 3.16, the base game changes are really beneficial for existing characters.

Maybe not 100% in regards of passive tree,some builds got nerfed, but overall a big positive.

Imo i think standard player are the big winners and should just wait it (3.16 till its gets core) out.

most standard builds got destroyed in 6 months...

The only people that enjoy the game atm is people that can play 10h+ a day and plays with the op meta stupid builds because 95% of skills are shit and rewards are useless 99.99% of the time.

If you don't want to play the only few op skills, too bad for you, enjoy one shots, poor loots, low damage and no map drops for you lol.

good luck with you 3 builds second job game with nobody around.

Looking at steam charts, they got peak at 45k+ average players few month ago, and now they barely pass 25K average players at league launch LOL.
They destroyed their own game, fucked up their revenues, their stock values goes from 82 USD this year to 55 USD.
That's a huge fail and they are so stupid they don't even understand why, and now GGG makes damage control stream and is like "ok guys don't leave please, more nerf are coming, stay tuned !"
and then "but why more people leave ? I don't understand, maybe more nerf will do it ?"

It's not scourge, scourge is ok-ish. The problem is the support gem nerfs ruined alot of off-meta builds and make many skills feel really bad to play.

They managed to slow down the game but many don't want to spend 12 hours in acts or grind their butt out to be able to clear white maps.

The main feature of PoE was the endless variety of skills and builds. 3.15 butchered that, and 3.16 has doubled down on the butchering.

But for some reason, GGG refuses to see this, probably because someone rerolling to three different builds and then quitting because neither of them work count, still within the first week, counts as +3 to build diversity while someone playing one build for two months counts as +1.

That the first guy is really unhappy about the game while the second one loves it is lost in the process.

support gems nerf was a huge mistake that is killing the game

To be honest i never played pure standard over an extended amount of time because i lose interest in both base game or league fast on average.

True there are these 3.15 changes to support gems that affect long term non-league players.

But i (my personal opinion of course) thinks the league rewards and unpolished aspects of the league itself may be a main reason for the massive player count dent in one week.

It's not that the players complaining about that can't, it's just they don't bother to grind hundred of hours to be able to play their builds, or maybe they don't want to play the op meta build ?
some people just want to play a build they enjoy, but GGG destroyed most of builds and now you have to play meta or die trying not to (or of course, you can farm 300h+ to be able to do content that can be beaten naked on op meta build).

it's just BS but hey, as long as we have those sweet juicy clips and streamers playing h24 it's okay i guess ?
