Streamer priority confirmed. PoE is free to play, so play it for free, but Boycott GGG.

Streamer privilege finally removed BUT what about Streamer RNG???? when Streamer rng will be removed?

GGG likes add extra loot and good planned rng while gives other shitty rng and nolucky drop/craft

I have stated repeatedly that I do not believe that GGG tamper with anyone's loot chances (edit:in a positive sense [see below post]), and that I don't believe them giving streamers priority access to gridlocked servers is related to any such escalation.

And here's why: they have nothing to gain from doing it, and a lot to lose if caught doing so.

In the case of what actually happened, they knew had a lot to lose if they didn't do it and not a lot to lose if they did. Exiles are already used to having to deal with servers shitting themselves on launch day. Paid streamers from other games? Less so. And as I said, the local celebs and their droogs, lovers, pets, and hangers-on also got in "to keep it fair". Do you honestly think GGG would have done it if they weren't confident most Exiles would be over it within a day or two? That they'd be able to rationalise it for themselves?

Exiles would not be over confirmed streamer loot manipulation in a day or two, and every time they didn't get a desired drop they'd be reminded that there are people out there factually more likely to get it. All it would take is one disgruntled streamer to spill the beans and GGG would be finished. So why risk that? Better to just let the addictive nature of PoE do its thing and make it SEEM like streamers have better luck because they play more and, like or not, often play better and smarter. Whether that means GGG's game or their actual game is pretty much irrelevant. Their role as figures of envy and influence is fulfilled either way.

Easy analogy: it is only logical that casinos treat their high rollers more obseqiously than slobs off the street. There is no such logic extended to them actually letting high rollers win to keep them playing -- they know they don't have to. A gambler is often just as fired up when losing than when winning. Makes the inevitable win that much sweeter, and of course the longer the losing streak, the happier the gambler is with a smaller victory.

So please stop bringing up streamer RNG in this thread unless you have proof of it. I have proof of GGG giving streamers priority access over anyone else at crucial times, and proof they did it for nothing more than mere money. Because they did it right in front of us.

If that isn't issue enough, too bad. Personally I think it's sort of silly that we'd have people trying to suggest a disgraceful possibility might follow a disgraceful reality. What, was GGG selling you loyal supporters out for en masse streamer recruitment, betraying their basic code, not atrocity enough?

They did tamper with botters' RNG. They admit as much. There is reason enough to believe they COULD. Whether they actually DID is unknown to us. Lack of information is not proof of it.

Don't say things you don't like? Is this a dictatorship? I can come up with better conspiracy theories. Like maybe whales has Whales privileges? Why GGG don't post botters ban list anymore? Chris Wilson secret identity is THE PR MAN not the Managing Director of GGG.

Not a Believer of "If they go low, you go high" I like "If they go low, you go lower so you can kick them in the nuts." But then again, I never thought GGG as one of the good guys. I never got "I got betrayed by my best friend" feeling some people are having. My reaction is benign in that sense.

Ah, this is a GOOD point, and one I've known for a long time. I shall amend what I said. Thank you for the catch!

You want PoE? Take it, it's yours. But my money? My money will burn in another game. Perhaps the silence of our wallets will finally stir something.
Wonder if there's any way to objectively measure the effects of this boycott.

What's a few thousand dollars from well over a hundred million?

Negligible is my guess.

Way too many things change every patch. Like I said in another thread, any dip in numbers is followed by a predictable train of people with their pet issues held aloft saying 'haha see I told you so! players don't like x'.

I'm curious as to what their list is for prospective changes if they have a very very down league. Like whatever the kind of player/income drop-off that would make them say 'wow, 1 more league like this and we're going to have to break-glass-in-case-of-emergency this and change x, y, and z'.

There's no shortage of complaints out there about the game, but what would they change first to try and get people back?

In the case of this topic (and a lot of them actually) its almost impossible for us to tell. First because this is a behind-the-scenes issue. But second because how can we separate a change made to save money versus a change they made because 'its the right thing for the game'?

Nothing. There is no significant dip in numbers. Not for this Streamer privilege scandal at least.
