Minions are just fine right now IMO. I'm more worried about minions being nerfed *because* of the VD meta (and others) in friendly fire.

How about 'Friendly fire' for minions. (Skeletons-)Archers or Redemption Sentries will kill your front line tanks like zombies. But your minions will drop loot. Positioning would be very crucial for not being killed by your minions. :)
The only blatantly obvious problem related to minions are redemption sentries.

The actual issue is the necromancer ascendancy itself and its interactions with specific mechanics.

Minion builds will get smashed with the nerf hammer as GGG will change the meta after Necromancer has dominated the last three leagues.
As long as they leave my poor stone/carrion golems alone I can deal. Of the countless builds ive played - the CIP Stone/Carrions were the most reliable. Yes you can die....yes the golems can technically die (A8 Citrus beam) - but it is a farmer build through and through.

I just wish I would have experienced golems BEFORE this league. However, it was a good opportunity because of all of the focus still being on novel HoT, CoC builds.
VD/DD isn't even THAT OP compared to what we've seen in the past (Sentry spectres is OP this league but i have no idea on the currency needed to achieve it, 3.10 had herald stacking which was probably the most OP build the game has ever seen, zombie necros in 3.9 were pretty OP, and damage wise BL miner is still OP AF). Then again, I played VD/DD this league on SSF so it could be that trade league VD/DD is more juicy than I think; right now when i play my VD/DD build it has great defence and low-to-okay damage, but i could be way off. It is weird that a necro is the tankiest class in the game though aside from maybe a HoaG jugg. My biggest fear is that when they go to nerf necro they do so by nerfing block nodes that melee characters benefit from. The best necro nerf would be a spellslinger nerf so that only 1 spell can be connected to each spellsling, that way you can't have DD and VD on the same link; this could be done by either upping the mana reservation required for each additional spell linked to spellslinger or just by not allowing 2 spells to be linked together. And then the redeemer sentry nerf is kind of a no-brainer... Just nerf those spectres in particular, not the entire spectre build.
a rework is a nerf every single time. trying to pretend otherwise is an insult to your player bases intelligence.

Because budget builds mean less player retention because this game is all about imposing artificial obstacles so that players stay longer to overcome them.



League after Heist is going to be the Password League, where your password is randomized and you have to guess it in order to log in. This way, players feel a sense of accomplishment upon successfully getting it right, as opposed to having it easy like they do right now.
Minions == lazy

unless this is a baron build with 100ex investment and/or with 30ex bow/staff, you will find yourself with 1 million dps at best and 5k hp with terrible defense, and your zombies will probably die to an endgame bosses because they will need to be scaled to like 28 gem level to be safe, what exactly is unbalanced right here?

When minions got reworked I tested one to see what all the fuss was about. At lvl 83 ish it was more powerful then my lvl 90-94 ish six linked cyclone character with only a 5 link. It was disgusting.

After they got "nerfed" some people complained so once again I created another zombie character to see what all the fuss was about using the old Baron zombie, Geofri's Sanctuary build that supposedly got rektd by the nerfs.

The result was a 6k hp / 5k ES character which cost 2 Ex. 1 Ex for the 6 linked weapon and 1 Ex for the chest. It done all content except A8 which it died on but that was mostly me not the character and that crazy rando modded Del Sim boss. This character was not even min maxed and missed quite a bit in possible gem lvls and % strength on gear.

The cheapness of the build was probably due to the sheep/herd mentality a lot of people have who moved on to other op builds. If that build is still Very viable after all the nerfs then the other minion builds are likely to be in an even better state.

Not trying to advocate for their destruction or survival etc just my exp seems to be very different.
