The Multi-box Thread: How it ruins the game.

Shady. Your assumptions about how many orbs are dropping are completely off. Have you ever partied before? Do exalts drop non stop while playing? Do divines? Gcp? No. They don't. From someone who multi loaded a ton in CB, I can personally tell you, you are wrong.

Yeah im just foolin...this are jacked though. ANd you are correct. Its a game and fun, and since there truly is no real competition xcept in races, then it truly matters not that people are boxxing. Sure they got more loot and better eq, but I tell ya what. I have had 0 issues on 4 different builds on 4 different toons with mid level cheap gear. If you bought everything or found everyting you want right away, what incentive is there to keep playin.

Well, it's kind of hard to explain.

I know you don't need the most fancy stuff, I have played my share of characters and always did fine (playing since CB, not that too far in though).

But I see what other people have. 6L items with perfect(-ish) stats and filled with all 20% quality gems., while still having a stash full of currencies.

And knowing that no matter how hard I try, there is no way in hell, I'll get there.

That does sometimes kill the fun for me - believe it or not :P

Hey man I get what your saying totally. Ive always been one of those people who not been lucky with drops. I dont box POE (no fun). I boxxed WOW (totally fun to box) but in wow there really was no advatage as I was on PVE server and people on my server loved me. Just consider this though when you think about all their perfect stuff. If I gave you every thing you wanted, right now, free. Everything with perfect rolls and stats to whatever you want. How long would you play before you get. Loot based games keep people playing cuz they wanna feel the excitement when something new and shiny drops. If you got everything already and youve run docks or maps for the 100th time...whats the draw when there are no more shinies?

Yes, you are right. I usually don't bother farming forever anyway. I enjoy playing new toons, once I reach end-game. The mindless grind that seems to lead nowhere just frustrates me anyway. And is actually kinda boring.

The only thing that really drives me crazy is the whole 6L thing. Never had one, maybe never will. I don't mind people having double my dps and HP/ES, but not being able to get the basics for a build is somewhat annoying. Especially since it's the perfect way to add IIQ/R.

And that leads us to the rich are getting richer - because they can farm way more efficient.

But yeah, if someone would give me all I need for free, that would probably just lead to quitting this toon, since I get the most joy of improving my character (via leveling mostly, that's free :P) and I would most likely get bored quickly as a result.
The whole idea that more players in a zone turns the monsters into item fountains is stupid.
I'd suggest removing the bonuses for multiplayer.
no more iiq/iir/experience
BUT, keep the monster buffs for life and damage.

"WHHHAAAAAAA, that will kill multiplayer!!!"

No, it won't. It will kill multi-FARMING. ie: boxers.
Players who want the challenge of tough monster fights will still team up.
Players who want to party up with friends will still team up.
But players who team farm, legit or boxer, will not have a huge advantage.

Stuff is still going to drop, and it will be hard to get. Just as is should be!

In PoE you have the chance to take crap whites and chance roll a unique. Or you can attempt crafting an insanely good rare. It gives the currency market some real value instead of 4 or 5 abundant uniques that everyone wants.

Very insightful. I absolutely agree.

While I understand, that balancing out MP vs. SP is a delicate process (D3 had it all wrong for a long time, maybe still - idc), the way it is now is simply not right.

MP has to be encouraged, but it shouldn't be superior in any way by a huge margin. And that would make MB'ing less efficient as well.

Make it so!

I've done my fair share of partied grinding. And from my experiences... Yeah. Yeah, they kinda do :/

Chaos's happen pretty much every run, several Alchs and even more Fuses as well. I'd say an Exalt once a day given a 3-hour grind period, if not a Divine. GCP's are about 1-3 given the same time frame.

Sucks when you have a 1/6 chance of having these drop for you, though - and even then, you can miss your loot time due to body blocks and/or desync. I've even seen guys pop Ice Walls, although I myself seem to be able to Whirling B. through them.
It's not 1/6.

Good idea but keep the XP bonus
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.

Every run of what? Ran 1000s of maps. Which have a "more item drop %", NEVER have I seen a chaos every run, several alchs, and fuses. Nor an exalt/divine once a day.

Nonsense.

Not trying to be rude (although I know I'm coming off that way), but yeah. To the person who posted that pic, did it ever occur to you that the individual is most likely a RMT'r, or uses a bottter board? Hence the $ tab.
