The Multi-box Thread: How it ruins the game.
The whole idea that more players in a zone turns the monsters into item fountains is stupid.
I'd suggest removing the bonuses for multiplayer. no more iiq/iir/experience BUT, keep the monster buffs for life and damage. "WHHHAAAAAAA, that will kill multiplayer!!!" No, it won't. It will kill multi-FARMING. ie: boxers. Players who want the challenge of tough monster fights will still team up. Players who want to party up with friends will still team up. But players who team farm, legit or boxer, will not have a huge advantage. Stuff is still going to drop, and it will be hard to get. Just as is should be! In PoE you have the chance to take crap whites and chance roll a unique. Or you can attempt crafting an insanely good rare. It gives the currency market some real value instead of 4 or 5 abundant uniques that everyone wants. |

" Very insightful. I absolutely agree. While I understand, that balancing out MP vs. SP is a delicate process (D3 had it all wrong for a long time, maybe still - idc), the way it is now is simply not right. MP has to be encouraged, but it shouldn't be superior in any way by a huge margin. And that would make MB'ing less efficient as well. Make it so! |

" I've done my fair share of partied grinding. And from my experiences... Yeah. Yeah, they kinda do :/ Chaos's happen pretty much every run, several Alchs and even more Fuses as well. I'd say an Exalt once a day given a 3-hour grind period, if not a Divine. GCP's are about 1-3 given the same time frame. Sucks when you have a 1/6 chance of having these drop for you, though - and even then, you can miss your loot time due to body blocks and/or desync. I've even seen guys pop Ice Walls, although I myself seem to be able to Whirling B. through them. |

It's not 1/6.

" Good idea but keep the XP bonus Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.
Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :( Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt. |

" Every run of what? Ran 1000s of maps. Which have a "more item drop %", NEVER have I seen a chaos every run, several alchs, and fuses. Nor an exalt/divine once a day. Nonsense. Not trying to be rude (although I know I'm coming off that way), but yeah. To the person who posted that pic, did it ever occur to you that the individual is most likely a RMT'r, or uses a bottter board? Hence the $ tab. |

An interesting thread even for someone who is probably playing less in a week than the true gamer plays in a single day. If there are ways to exploit features of the game they will be used and developers should see to it but there is no easy solution. In addition I think some people are misunderstanding and blaming multiboxing for more than they should.
Deleting currency would complicate trading a lot and efficiently keep all players who plays a little as myself or less out of the game totally. It would not be the multiboxers logging in to face an empty stash, believe me. Simply banning multiboxing will be an endless struggle in detecting it which probably just isn't worth it for GGG. Creating specific game servers for similar features would end up in a lot of leagues and most players wouldn't care about the difference between them. The detecting problem would persist to exist. Nerfing the party bonus to the point where solo play is better would take the base idea of people playing together away. I presume that six (real) players with character builds that complement each other is supposed to be the best way of playing the game but without making partying a must for the very common solo currency farmer. The solution is probably within this balance. If the dead characters do not count as being present for the loot (since they cant grab their share anyway) it would make multiboxing somewhat harder to use but it would perhaps raise annoance elsewhere in the audiance. Seems to me like a fair thing to change unless I've misunderstood and it is already like this. Forcing characters to move or attack and being close to the action to affect the reward have been implemented but cannot be pushed in absurdum. My opinion is that playing solo without multiboxing should be as profiting as to do it with it and hence killing the idea of using the program unless it is for fun (which would make it ok). How this is achieved is both a matter of balance in the loot/exp system and in how inconvenient it is to play the game with 6 characters at once. Since so many people are playing the game solo in the competitive way that the author describes at least for a considerable portion of the time in the game I agree the multiboxing should be adjusted in some way. Like the situation is now it is the rational way to play and you'd be a fool not to use it. |

" Every run of Ledge or Docks. If nothing else, I can say these drops apply for every two runs at the most. But I'd say it's somewhere around the 1.5 area, really. |

" I have never seen that much bullshit lies in my life ever.Assuming you play 5 hours a day(you probably play more) you make 5 exalteds in a day. That is 35 exalteds in a week. You would have 130+ exalteds in a month. Please show us a pic of your stash having 150 + exalted worth of currency. We are all waiting.
