IMPORTANT: Everyone playing on Windows 7 or 8.1 immediately stop and upgrade to Windows 10.

" Eh? They stopped adding new features 5 years ago but home users still got bug fixes & security updates until this year. Businesses can still pay for those security updates going forward. |

" Not true. This is the official line from Microsoft: Windows 7 support ended on January 14, 2020 Microsoft says they had a 10 year commitment to support Windows 7 and now it's over. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

Windows 10 sucks bad and I will avoid using it as long as I possibly can. My current computer is only a ocuple years old and I went out of my way to avoid Win 10. That meant buying a refurbished computer since all the new ones came with 10.
As for support, win 7 will continue to be supported for a very long time. Contrary to what a lot of people think, XP is still supported. When Microsoft says they will stop supporting an OS, all it means is they will not have people working on patches exclusively for that OS. Most patches work for multiple OSes, including the older ones. You can still download and install them. I used XP until a couple of years ago, and I was still installing patches every month when they came out. |

Win7 isn't even supported anymore... do you fools willingly want to get hacked?

Upgrading your system/hardware/software improves your performance? Who would've thought? We're talking about a ten years old OS here, with more than lackluster support for DirectX, CPU Core management and whatnot. Should be a nobrainer to switch, if you have the option to do so.

whatever perceived (or real) security threats there might be with win10, win7 most defintely does have security issues going forward, which are only going to get worse as time goes on.
You'd have to be a complete fool to keep running that system on anything that's connected to the internet (direct or indirect). | |
" If it was true that Windows 10 "sucks" and Window 7 "blows" (Windows 8 doesn't rate at all) then no one would be gaming much. Obviously, this isn't true. My personal PoE performance proves that Windows 10 runs circles around Windows 7 PoE performance. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." " Well it seems that new os works better with new hardware... What it obvious and make people spend $$$ to upgrade both. Hell its even on ms official site saying that u need to upgrade ur pc to have the "full potential" of the win 10. My spec is not that old. i7 4790 - gtx 960ti but still I tried win 10 and felt bad on ark and here on poe (I was playing ark, not anymore though lol). So I rolled back to my win 7. On my other pc at home I have already a win 10 but I use that pc just for work. So. Yeah like video drivers (that optimize for newer gfx) it seems the same on win 7 x 10 thing. Anyway Ill upgrade both this year (hardware and os) cause obviously its obsolete by now |

" Yes. Everyone putting performance first, should in 9/10 situations upgrade their OS when it's an option. Most of the "hate" for Windows 10 have nothing to do with performance, but rather with aesthetics and information gathering. When quoting 'harddaysnight', I was hoping he could share some other reasons. Still waiting.
