A Community Almost Completely Devoid of Sympathy and Empathy

I'm shocked, shocked that there are full of random people being dicks in a online gaming community.

Ah a moment of clarity from "buttcommander"

The internet is amazing!
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

"When you want to be smart, you be smart yourself." This is the echo reflecting in this chamber. While OP isn't even trying to look smart for himself.

When you are looking at a person shouting in the large echo chamber, you don't shout at him from distant but attract an interest by the person and wait the person stay in own silence.

If you don't have time, you can just leave the door of the chamber opened. No need to yell just for the notification to lead to another echo chamber.

Edit
Please keep your GIF in the spoiler. nvm, I was focused too much.

Try "Windows Sonic for Headphones" via Right-Click on the volume control in the task bar if you are Windows 10 user.

Don't forget to turn it off when you going back to PoE. :P

It makes a small echo chamber near field while expanding stereo sound. doesn't work good if too many sounds crossing at same time in the chamber.

Easy solution, instead of hanging out in general, go answer questions about the game from people in gameplay and help.

Many questions there are from people in their first 2-3 weeks of play, and the answers are simple, so you dont always need to be a streamer to answer. (And other questions are super complex, if you dont know, just focus on the ones you can help). They just need someone willing to read and respond.

There are very few constructive threads on the forums, but in that one sub-forum there are very few non-constructive threads.

Most of the times it is a player problem. They should be grateful more experienced guys give them advice.

Well, I am one of the players that would have appreciated feedback from experienced players a lot.

But I am prolly one of the players rhe thread starter meant: i cant really say this community is particularly toxic but basically all my posts or threads where I asked basic stuff got hundreds of views but basically no answer.

The only time I did get responses when I got too frustrated and stopped playing, came here again and said I lost my drive to play as atlas gave me trouble and also because I had a few questions concerning summoners. Ppl then said that the game is then probably not for me, basically calling me stupid.

I liked the game. Liked the genre ever since Diablo 1 & 2. I liked poe but I hit a wall and at some point you do feel a bit helpless and also dumb for getting zero replies to your questions.

I say that without rage or anger. Just a bit frustration.

I literally stopped playing because of that.

You prolly need experienced friends or have to join a guild. But concerning the forum: you get 100 views but no answer.

I tried steam poe forum and same thing there which im just not used to from other games. You almost always get multiple ppl giving advice. But the only time ppl did respond was when you say you kinda gave up and then they defend the game.

Hell, I just wanted to play but the wiki simply doesnt answer all the questions.

So with me it wasnt necessarily that ppl were prticuarly toxic. I just never got any replies. Many views, yes...but no answers.

Asking in the forum was a fruitless andeavor for me. Im positive other ppl had different experiences but I was somehow cursed with being ignored dwl.

Without rage or anger or any of that: that was honestly the reason I stopped.
There are few reasons:
- free to play (anybody can come and troll with 0 cost)
- influencers marketed (influencers set standards, few people identify to them, but a lot follows, there is a lot of conditionning through unfair marketing)
- intricate game mechanics
- half the trolls probably use rmt stuff sadly

You should take distance from all this garbage, stay ethical, it always pay of at a point behaving with decent personnal values, you may interact with other normal players in the end.
