A Community Almost Completely Devoid of Sympathy and Empathy

There are few reasons:
- free to play (anybody can come and troll with 0 cost)
- influencers marketed (influencers set standards, few people identify to them, but a lot follows, there is a lot of conditionning through unfair marketing)
- intricate game mechanics
- half the trolls probably use rmt stuff sadly

You should take distance from all this garbage, stay ethical, it always pay of at a point behaving with decent personnal values, you may interact with other normal players in the end.

You talk about staying ethical while accusing ppl of rmt without any evidence, not sure you understand what the word means.

all my posts or threads where I asked basic stuff got hundreds of views but basically no answer.

Lets have a look: recently you've made 2 threads. One of them was wall of text 1.5 pages long, and i personally couldn't read it because after 3 paragraphs i still had no idea what you are talking about and what exactly your problem is. Yet you received plenty of responses in this thread.

Second one was about build with spectres. You were asking about "this" build you've seen somewhere in the internet and the only you did to describe it - listed few unique items it was using. Nothing else! And you wondering why no one could help you?

1. You stating that you got no answers but this is not true - you got plenty of answers (literally, half of your question threads were answered).
2. When you have a question you should put your efforts into asking it properly:

So with me it wasnt necessarily that ppl were prticuarly toxic. I just never got any replies. Many views, yes...but no answers.

Asking in the forum was a fruitless andeavor for me. Im positive other ppl had different experiences but I was somehow cursed with being ignored dwl.

You should reconsider your approach to asking the questions. I really recommend you to read article i linked above and take it seriously.
retired from forum because of censorship and discrimination

I appreciate your feedback.

Youre not being fair though, man. Im not a fan of endless wall of texts myself, believe it or not. I did post multiple (very brief) posts in both summoner/witch section and specific threads and also in general discussion

The reason I wrote a lot more in that one thread was that I thought maybe if I explain a bit, that im a casual player, that I like the game and blablabla was maybe ppl can sympathize a bit more and realize, that I truely dont know that much about the game.

I did see the answers but they didnt really help me as I had tried all those things and still didnt really get stone drops. I admit though, that in that instance ppl at least responded, though they basically gave the same explanation that ppl suggested in atlas videos.

And as you saw, the second thread you linked received zero answers. Dunno how else to explain stuff. I mentioned my exact gear and detailed that its a low life summoner build and that I didnt quite understand how somebody got to 5 spectres with that build.

After many posts and some threads I started I actually had 2 ppl answer in the steam poe forum that said it might be anointments that enables that guy to have 5 spectres even without empower in the 6 link in shavs.

It was a struggle though to get answers. Which is why I wanne say thank you to Mr. Sempf and Mr. Enophetamine (steam forum).

It isnt fair to state I should be more precise with my questions. As I said, with the experience and knowledge I have of the game I didnt know what else I could say. I gave my exact gear and one of the things that would have alread helped me was the issue that I didnt quite understand if you would have to use empower in such a setup or if it has maybe to to with anointments.

You might very well be able to provide more more precise answers. I dont really undersatnd how everything is connected though. Theres a huge number of things that I stumble over when trying to figure stuff out.

For example, if the guy with this build in the video might have put empower in his 6 link and simply forgot to mention that. Or if he used anointments (Mr. Sempf mentioned that might be the thing I missed). You yourself would prolly very much know that you either can or cannot enchant unique chest pieces with +1 spectre. I didnt/do not know that. I have no idea if thats possible. Can one enchant shavs with + 1 spectre....I tried to figure that out.

It isnt impossible to investigate all those little issues to finally come to the conclusion that its a) a mistake by the person that uploaded the guide and he/she forgot to mention they use empower in the 6 link or that I b) simply ocmpletle overlooked stuff like anointments.

All of that takes a huge amount of time if you are a complete casual player like me.

As I said, I realized im only reading threads and watching videos to get simple explnations and to understand certain aspects. Only to stumble over ten more (small) questions.

I then went to forum and I did actually post multiple very brief questions.

But yeah, maybe ppl dont really want to respond to questions that appear as if the user has no idea of basic game mechanics.

But to tell me that im writing way too much stuff....haha. I mean, it didnt really matter if I posted one liners, one paragraph or 1,5 pages.

To this day, in this very moment, I only have this anointment thing that I can now investigate. I still dont realy know if thats why he/she had 5 spectres or if it might be something else.

For all the very experienced ppl stuff like crafting is very understandable and easy to comprehend. Hell, crafting seems like a super complicated thing. For you its totally clear that theres this and that and also that way to get to 4 or 5 or 6+ spectres. I dont know any of that.

The wiki is only of limited help. It does say what anointments do or what this or that skill does, but it doesnt really explain how everything is connected.

If none of my questions made any sense, why not just say 'listen, you have to first provide this or that info concerning the build'. That would be more helpful that stating 'your questions are dumb'.

Even now, I expect that ppl will say that I write way too much and nobody wants to read those walls of texts.

But, yeah, all of this is a bit too hostile for my taste. Its bad to post brief questions, its bad to post longer questions. Its bad and stupid to ask newbie questions.

Dunno what exactly you want me to do.

But id feel to stupid to even ask more questions cause id worry that theyre easier dumb questions (and ppl tell me so eagerly) or theyre too long and nobody wants to read it dwl.

Its okay.

Maybe this just isnt my game. I miss the fun and the enthusiasm in threads and replies. Its all soo serious, so...pefect and you gotta be very careful, running on eggshells what you write and ppl are eager to tell you taht youre a noob, that you ask dumb questions and all that.

Its all a bit too hostile and too...'efficient' to me.

But I do appreciate that some of you actaully gave serious feedback. Maybe not really the things I wanted to hear but you took time to answer.

Thank you for that.
29 paragraphs. A new record?

I looked at that thread. It's not clear you put any thought into that thread other than your gear, so how can anyone give you feedback? Why should anyone care to think about your problem if you didn't?

How many spectres did you think you could get? Where were they coming from? What conditions do you think you need to meet to get to the number you're hoping for? What is your skill tree? What are your skill gem links? What builds are you comparing yours to?

I do have a hard time feeling sorry for people falling for 100% preventable "scams" when the game is designed to make scamming literally impossible since you have to drag your mouse over an item before you can click accept

telling you to learn how to add 2 + 2 doesn't sound like a lack of empathy to me

Off topic for this particular thread but do you know what league the spectre build was originally posted in? It used to be far easier to get to 5 spectres than it is now because they were reworked in 3.8. For example bones of ullr used to give +1 max spectres, same with vis mortis. As to uniques, they can't be modified in the crafting bench aside from socket numbers, links, and colors so he couldn't get a 5th spectre that way. I will say poe itself is not very informative about things but the wiki and poeaffix and poedb can help. In this case google is your friend and can help point you to resources.

Son, you couldn't be more wrong on that statement. The game is designed to encourage scams with lookalike items and the fact that there is no secure way to do services.
Its not community problem, its generation problem.

Services aren't guaranteed and the players accept the risk, however quite a few complain despite knowing this.

Lookalike items aren't surprising when you consider how many items there are. What isn't surprising is how common it is for people to blame others when all they had to do was slow down for a moment and review the trade window. It's like people getting a letter from a self-proclaimed Nigerian Prince and complying with his request for your account information. So eager for that promised wealth, it doesn't occur to them that something is off.
Yep, totally over league play.
