Betrayal Statistics

there are lots of one shots from the syndicate members, squishier, lower hp builds that are fun otherwise dont stand a chance, even high hp ones die couse of one shots.

that really hurts build diversity GGG
The fact that less than 1/4 of players have completed a dozen challenges this league is pretty fucking telling. Every league has enough challenges that are either given to you just for doing story mode or super easy to complete, so the first reward is basically a freebie. And yet less than 1/4 of players have done even that this league.

Betrayal is a goddamn disaster.

The mastermind fight i watched Ziggy D (Id like to say perform, but can't) put me off even trying it in SC yet alone HC, it seemed graphically bugged out. I farmed the safehouse rewards and whilst entertaining to both run and build upto, the grind for the rewards other than the pure Breachstone from research seemed a very underwhelming experience. Syndicate fights were easy enough in the story-line but once in maps; COME ON! The interaction between those groups and items they might be carrying made them as dangerous as Invasion opening night, Yes i can recall that horror story all too well..lol
Best league ever.Thank you GGG

40/40 here one more time
I ran Mastermind twice and beat it once. I never plan to do it again now that I know it resets my syndicate. Fuck that.

Aside from Mastermind, this is the best league ever.

Overall, I've really enjoyed Betrayal and will really miss Scarabs when they become much rarer. I feel like I've had to build better characters and be more engaged with the Syndicate fights, which I personally have enjoyed. I like playing with the Syndicate board too, though the balancing on rewards and options could use some work.

But Mastermind rewards and the board reset are complete trash. I did that fight twice and then never again--it's just nowhere close to worth ruining your Syndicate setup for.
I went into the mastermind fight once. With a build that was just about immortal anywhere so far once I got it properly geared up. I died very quickly in that fight though, with no idea why I died, or how I could have avoided it, or what I should have even done there. It was absolutely impossible to figure out anything about that fight even after several deaths.

Then I Googled and read a bit. What struck me on every single thread I read was "shit rewards". Right. So I lost several days progress as a casual player even just for XP, for absolutely no reward, in a place where even success wouldn't have given any proper reward. I guess I don't even need to say that I never went there again. Took me a while before I even launched the game again after that. I guess I should have figured out something from the league name - Betrayal... I definitely felt betrayed at that moment.

Also, I got very, very annoyed at Interventions during the story line and early mapping, because there was no way to escape them; you either win or die. I play softcore because I don't want to waste my whole life in keeping all the gear at the best they could ever be to survive until early endgame, so being beaten by one-shotting Syndicate members all over the game is partially a result of my own choices...

However, when you can easily skip any other encounter, interventions are just simply unfair. Don't want to do a fort right now? Just run past it. A laboratory? Don't go in. A transportation? Just let it run on it's own and it'll disappear. Want to skip an intervention? Well... stand right there for a second and let them kill you, that's easy and quick. And very depressing for the player.

When players are given a clear choice in only 3 out of 4 different types of encounters but absolutely no choice in one of them, it's just really bad design. It has completely put me off from creating new characters. It's not a real issue in endgame with properly geared character, but during leveling, I just don't want to feel like a pig that's being repeatedly slaughtered. Never again.

Yet another thing that has put me off from playing is the amount of sulphite available. I really liked the Delve mechanics, and was delighted when I heard it's going to stay in the game... but when I realised I had to grind through maps for a week to get enough sulphite for an hour of delving (a slight exaggeration, but just a slight one, finding Niko is way too rare), I pretty much stopped playing. Even when I thought to try using a scarab for getting more sulphite, it ended up being another betrayal as there was only one node in the map. Such a waste.

There's simply nothing of interest that I could reliably keep doing at this point. I thought this league would have offered some variety with so many different mechanics being in, but in truth there's almost no variety. It's simply a horribly exhausting mapping grind, with no way for players to actually choose what endgame content they want to do.

You had a chance, GGG, but you didn't use it. You could have made this into the best league ever by balancing out the mechanics better and giving us some real choice in what to do, but you decided to force us into this world of one-shots.

So, I'm done for this league.
Mastermind is not difficult, it's just not rewarding. I ran it about 6 times total. There is just no point.

Last league with easy challenges was Abyss, dec 2017.
You could get around 12-13 by the end of act 10, when you additionally did Vaal side areas and easy vendor recipes during leveling.
