No, he was entirely correct. Putting the currency symbol after the number is a long-standing convention in French-speaking areas, including in Canada. Indeed, nothing in the link you posted states otherwise.

Conversely, I gauged fairly quickly that the smaller, tight-knit community of GGG/PoE would very much suit my style. It's nice to be a part of something where you don't have to scream, yell or cause a scene just to be heard. Admittedly, this *hinges* on Path of Exile being necessarily less 'successful' than certain other games, but I believe there's a huge, huge gap between 'failure' and 'complete blockbuster'. I like indie movies too, and in case it isn't obvious, I'm a big supporter of literary novels that might only sell 10 or 20k copies, if that.

Is that a cop-out? Maybe. It's definitely a deliberate rejection of the 'mass' product, although I love plenty of popular things too. Usually I remain pretty tight-mouthed *if* I love something very popular because, well, such things get their praises from all over.

So when I come across a community like this, a product like this, I'm so happy to join in and see how it all goes.

I realise I sound a bit like a hipster, or at least a hipster in the making, but meh. I was wearing glasses before they were, and it *wasn't* cool then.

Noted. I figured the fact that the 'denomination' table had all the dollar symbols on the left was a contradiction.

I will give credit that this is perhaps one of the few topics I've seen D3 criticized on that didn't devolve into an ad hominem-slinging affair. At least for now.

In some ways I'm happy D3 will be easier to get into because the less time to surround myself with the typical Blizzard defenders the more sanity I will possess. It was atrocious enough to deal with them back when I played WoW and being involved in petty conflicts over a violet-worded virtual item.

I want you to know that I appreciate finally seeing an opinion that I can read into and get a feeling of knowledge from, you are making me want to play Diablo 3 despite being a different game while still enjoying this game, instead of yelling about how it should die in a pit of hungry hippo's.

I am glad you supported this game, I hope it will get them opportunities to build this game with more content faster then if people just ignore the concept of paying because its "F2P". Thumbs up to you.

Perhaps I'll pitch in 25 dollars when I can afford it, if I can afford it.

My dislike for something I used to like is very easily channelled into a hope that others do continue to like it. I don't let it turn into a hatred or a zealous rejection. That's...immature, really.

I still prefer to take some vestige of hope that Blizzard might pull itself out of the fire, so to speak, with Diablo 3. Its going to be a good game regardless of whether they burn, but I still would love to see the avatar of the arpg genre pull itself out of the flames, dust itself off and show the colors we all knew it for.
