Time Capsule from PoE Closed Beta -- a classic PoE vs D3 thread circa 2012

Free to play game...

Spends 1000$ on it.

Genius.
Can't type '$1000' right.

...back atcha.

It's free to play upon open beta/release. Right now you can pre-purchase currency in their aesthetic cash shop, and each purchase comes with a key. I support this company, and therefore chose a higher-priced package.

The choice to pay that much was mine.

It had nothing to do with this game as a free-to-play.

Think of it like supporting a band you like. You can DL their songs for free if you want, but they also accept payment if you REALLY like it and want to help them make more.

If you don't understand this...

You're an idiot.
Account sharing/boosting is a bannable offence. No ifs, ands, or buts. No exceptions. Not even for billionaires.

I WARNED YOU, DON'T FEED THEM, DON'T DO IT!

They're like mangy cats, feed them once and they will just keep coming back.

In French-speaking Canada, the dollar symbol appears after the number, but I don't expect someone as provincial-minded as you to understand this ;) Indeed, it is pitiful that your only method of comeback in argumentation is nitpicking semantics.

Nevertheless, I completely understand your stance, as you're already so invested into this game. When you piss away $1000, you must justify this action to yourself.

As with such, I won't fault you for being utterly defensive and attempting to rationale your actions to anyone who will lend an ear. However at the end of the day, just realize that you are only deluding yourself into believing this game to being something it is not. ^^

ive playted diablo for years, and after being a poe exclusive fan for months and months and months, finally diablo 3 is coming out, ive always loved the lore, barbarian and the whirl wind skill, seeing as its coming out nxt month i will have to pick up D3 it looks to fun to pass up. maybe when GGG gets their game least halfway finished il bother to play it. diablo 3 doesnt look too bad i mean honestly, its colorful but it has the same idea as the first 2 games. im going to invest some time into d3 when its released. and i cant wait. ive waited to long for a sequal not to play d3. yeah GGG has the right idea but its far from finished. very far.
Phase 1: Make D3

Phase 2: ?

Phase 3: Profit

Looks like you're the provincial one, not even knowing how to correctly represent your own currency.

And that wasn't my 'only' comeback, as is evident.

I think you should leave. You're offering nothing constructive to this thread, and given how many responses we've had both for PoE and for D3, that's quite an achievement in terms of sheer uselessness.

Cya.

...And I see now (because I really should stop looking but can't) that this Newtype moron is copying more of my responses...

I don't know who "Tagle" is but I appreciate their attempts to make clear what's going on.

Your working yourself up quite a fanclub there.
Mm. And a few positive responses. Even in that pit of vipers.

That's kinda cool.

...either way, this is the last I'll be posting about it. If I continue to discuss it, they've won: this thread has been de-railed. Which is a shame, because it's been a good thread so far.

So to return to topic:

I made a few suggestions in the appropriate forums but get very few views, virtually no responses. That's a little saddening, considering just expressing one's opinions here gets so much attention. I suppose opinions are easier to respond to.

Still, I do like the idea of support gems more dramatically altering active skills. It's pie-in-the-sky stuff, certainly nowhere near top priority, but worth putting on the table. It'd provide more 'content' in terms of wow-factor past say, level 30, diversity skills even more and thus (and this is of course my favourite bit) it would result in even more build potential.

Diablo 3 does sadly lack that feeling that the devs even attempt to look at anything on the forums outside the hidden threads. Of course, considering the community that Blizzard has somehow managed to accumulate, I am not surprised. 80% of the forum community over there is a troll and contributes relatively nothing at all besides snarky remarks and internet troll memes that were old when the wheel was square.

Its sad aswell, becuase the developers at Blizzard are forced to make due with the same opinions of generally the same testers.

Honestly, if I were to rank the reasons why I wouldn't play D3 actively, it would be the community, which truely at this point, deserves the title of a cesspool.

It got to the point where I quit playing Starcraft2, although the community in THAT game was fine, the bleeding and blending of the WoW and SC2 community was taking a toll in any game that was outside srs bznz brackets.

Alas, the degredation of the internet community.
