I can tell you here and now how they'll make money post-sale with GW2 purely on vanity, because when I heard about it I just about exploded with joy:

gear stats transferring between gear skins.

It'll be cheap and extremely popular. Because so many MMOers, and fantasy gamers in general, have a 'look' they really like and can so rarely match it with the stats they require or desire. Now my black cloak and hood and light cloth *will* have the stats of high end leather, etc. I can't stress enough how awesome that is. It'll also give you something of an advantage in PvP: so often we judge others by knowing what they're wearing. With that out of the way, you won't be so quick to rush a thief wearing 'newbie' armor -- for all you know, he might be 'wearing' extremely enchanted plate underneath.

I think this is brilliant and excellent and glorious!

As for storage size, I only played up to about 6 months after GWEN was released and never once had storage issues. We had a guild mule account, yes, but...no storage issues. I haven't seen GW2's that clearly yet but if they follow GW1's model, all items only take one slot. That's quite different to the encumbrance-simulation in a Diablo type game.

Well even if I'm not gonna read it all, I can tell there was a lot of tough debate going on here, but frankly I know OP(CharanJaydemyr) can handle it well just by reading his original post.
+1 cookie for you, for being a calm, smart and mature player :) and for creating another thread that have served some good info and debates for both D3 and PoE.

Awww, thanks! I just...wanted to say what was on my mind, hopefully without treading on any toes. I wanted to explain my choice without dictating whether it was right or wrong; it was right for me, everyone else can do as they will.

I think that's what Path of Exile itself is doing: it's a game that doesn't attack other games, doesn't knuckle in on anyone else's territory. It's there if you want it, and it's free. And if you don't, well, it'll still be there for the people that do. It's not a D3-killer, because D3 is a D3-killer in the eyes of the people who wanted something else. Path of Exile exists concurrently to D3, not in opposition of. Comparisons are inevitable, but they don't have to be decisive. You can like both. You can dislike both.

I like one over the other and said why, in what I hope is the most appropriate place to do so.

huh no... because, like in GW1, items are quite pointless in GW2 ^^;
and you can play with a PvP character aswell. If you want to be pretty when you play PvP, that's your problem ^^;

As for comparison and what not, I guess that's the only interesting thing with PoE then, bashing D3 ^^;

You're going to cancel your pre order of an entirely different game for a game that won't be out until at least half a year? Makes sense.

Whats the point of comparing games that are not even out ?

As much as I enjoy the CB of PoE theres many things that will drive me away if they are not fixed, but again its a freakin CLOSED BETA so what do I know about the game really ?

Once both games are out I will be the first to put all the elements in balance and make my choice, as it is now this is just pointless......

Although I was disappointed by the D3 beta (bored me) I'm still going to give the full game a chance because of my love for Diablo, and all of the people I know on battle.net will be there. However, I'll have to find time to play PoE as well now since it reminds me of D1, but is different enough to stand out from it and fun enough to continue playing.

Why chooses Path of Exile over Diablo 3?

Because i think Path of Exile will be a better game in the long run.
