Revamped Ascendancy Class Reveal: Elementalist

Looks worse than it was for spellcasting builds... very underwhelming.
can someone please explain to me why in hell is this class only (almost) focused on pets instead of spells you know.... like an actual witch?, oculist now has minion stuff too like wtf, i understand that
thematically speaking raising a minion is magic but its nowhere near even the 5% (you know where i go that number from, its just to make a point) of magic out there, and calling a class "witch" when she is almost not one (in the ascendancies), also why not integrate the golem nodes in necromancer somehow and make elementalist an actual build you play by you self?
Am I the only one who thinks that Liege of the Primordial is in almost all cases objectively better than Paragon of Calamity?

LotP inherently gives you at least two golems, thus 40% increased damage right off the bat, with no conditions. PoC only works if you have been hit, and only for elemental damage.

Further you get 50% increased effect of golem buffs, which in turn means even more damage (with elemental golems) or defensive stats (with stone or chaos golems). Not to mention actually being able to run two of these buffs at once.

All you're really losing is 0.5% leech which is easy enough to get elsewhere; and reflect immunity which is not really a problem now that reflect rares are not a thing. Is 8% reduced damage (with conditions attached) of one element really that big of a redeeming factor?

I think Paragon of Calamity is a bit weak. I feel that duration is too short for how hard it is to trigger the damage bonus and the damage reduction. The way to fix this is to add a mod that says convert 10% of physical damage taken to random elemental damage taken (similar to chieftain). This make triggering Calamity much easier. Otherwise, you will have to use stuff that force this conversion, like Lightning Coil.

EDIT: that said, it does have 100% elemental reflect reduction.

What happens when you have negative reservation?

We can reach negative reservations on heralds now. I think prior we could get like 99% reduced with 40% tree+jewel, 30% victario influence, 10% dual ichimonji, 8% alpha howl, 5% amulet, 6% skyforth for total of 99% on gems socketed in victario's influence. With this new 25%, we can hit -24%!

I'm missing info on the tree jewel one, what parts get the 40% here?

Though I would guess we can quick test with Arctic armor, prefect form and any other reduced mana reservation thing to see. Wording on that is 100% reduced reservation, not Arctic armor reserves no mana
Okay, now this, this looks pretty awesome.

Guess necromancer finally has some competition for best golem-user!

My necro will remain jack of trades but will definitely give flame golems a try here.

Fire and Ice box MTXs will be coming out. Going to try out a flame golem elementalist in a heartbeat with that golem MTX.
