Revamped Ascendancy Class Reveal: Elementalist

I am a little sad about the Mastermind of Discord change. I liked cycling between different elemental skills to maintain consistent penetration. Now it's just a forever passive bonus, and requires reserving mana as well.

Beacon of Ruin seems quite strong when used with something like Orb of Storms + Increased Critical Strikes (+ PCoC?). As long as you crit one enemy, everything around it gets shocked for 20% increased damage, regardless of how much Lightning Damage you actually do.

Also not sure why Beacon of Ruin pretty much neglects Ignite entirely. Even the 20% increased effect of Ailments goes the extra distance to specify 'non damaging' to give the old 'F-off' to ignite, as if 20% increased burning damage from ignites would have been just too much. Between that and new Mastermind of Discord requiring the utterly useless-to-firecasters Herald of Ash, GGG seems intent to cut Fire from Elementalists (Or at least make it really bad).

Or perhaps Herald of Ash will get updated/new functionality.

So much salt because the class isn't 100% identical to its current iteration save with bigger numbers. Let's be thankful Pendulum of Destruction is actually useful now, and Mastermind of Discord doesn't require CWC shenanery or conversion tricks to be useful. Elementalist Golemancers might actually be semi-competitive with Necromancer versions now.

Yeebus, this is why I never normally bother venturing into GD. Does anyone in GD actually like this game?

I love this game, doens't mean I love everything in it. Pointing out what I see as flaws or shortcommings does not mean I do not like the game overall. Pretty sure most of the people criticizing things here feel the same way (or they would not be here). A forum of people just praising everything and NOT pointing out where they think things are wrong sounds utterly pointless to me.

Bex, is this a typo or mistake? nodes 7 and 8 seem to be reversed as far as the mods - please confirm or deny

Edit: also would like to make a recommendation that the herald reduced mana reservation be a slightly higher percentage.... as is i dont think it is worthwhile still IMO :(

I think their priority should be making every ascendancy viable, and less concern on balance between classes. This isn't a PvP game, so more build options is more important than one being better than another. If you mean balance as in the game will be too easy, well you can control that yourself.
Looks solid, still wonder how good this will be for selfcast compared to inquisitor. Leech adition is great and it's alredy an advantage over inquisitor, still has no attackspeed on ascendancy nodes though. Might be legit as a staff caster and just stacking movespeed, who knows. Reflect changes scare me tbh. I hope we are not getting it back.

It does have attack speed nodes. Not on the notables, but on the passives. It's not the greatest boost in the world, but it is there.

Was most hyped for this one. Sadly I don't think it lives up to my hopes. Golem stuff seems powerful, but the other options are somewhat lackluster IMO.

Paragon of Calamity is good if for no other reason than the leech, but as other have said, the reflect portion would have been a big deal some time ago, but not huge now.

Mastermind of Discord not terrible, but really sad to have to build around heralds to get the pen. As others have said, hopefully Herald of Ash is getting some sort of change.

Beacon of Ruin branch is still completely undesirable in my opinion.

Overall this one is a big miss.
