Nerfing XP grinding again 95-100?

XP nerf grinding to level 100 was not rebalanced or reworked to be something fun or possible to players, it was nerfed to the ground where only 5 streamers in this World called Earth will be able to do.

So.... there is a big difference between balance, nerf, buff and KILLING content in path of exile. GGG still doesn't understand that.

YOu can expect 0% builds with vaal pact on 3.1. This is not balance, this is KILLING content. Just like Chaos innoculation and Energy shield on 3.0. And here we go. Balance team is lost in this game since beta. SOmehow the game still going on. Let's see what happens. It seems Chris just do anything on balance patchs and hope for a miracle.

I'm gonna go out on the limb and say that it wasn't impossible after all.

they couldnt reach level 100 at the start when it took 4 months for hvr to get there, they could reach level 100 a year later when it took hvr 1 month, they couldnt reach lvl 100 years after that when it took hvr a week, and now they still wont reach lvl 100 when its taking hvr a week + 3 days.

Youve been dealing with it for over 4 years and you will continue to deal with it.

What this boils down to is that the length of time it will take to reach lvl100 in 3.1 will be faster than its been for at least 75% of this games history. Thats a fact, and one that shows this entire carry-on to be nonsensical.

And that is solely on GGG. Why didn't they implement a modest requirement for every level after let's say 90, to ALWAYS require one more time the EXP for the previous level, so 91 = 2 x 90, 92 = 2 x 91 (or 4 x 90) and so on until 100 (which would have been "just" 1024 x 90). So they wouldn't have ever needed to adjust the EXP rate via "penalties", and if someone was "perseverent" enough to level a character to 100, instead of 1024 characters to just 90, he would have deserved it due to the obscene required grind, no but's and no questions asked...

Not to mention GGG goes about this the wrong way via "blanket nerfing" EXP gain, instead of linking progression to the "beautiful" Atlas map, and actually "balancing" danger/reward ratios even in this area...

So no, GGG shouldn't get a "free pass" when they act like this. The extreme RNG and grind already start to feel lacklustre due to their decoupling with the average person spare time for enjoyment... And if they will continue to go this way, fewer and fewer people will actually bother to level post 95, not to mention doing that versus the hardest content the game throws at them... And that is saddening...
PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...

Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...
well more and more people are getting to level 95 because its become easier and easier to level in the game, so not sure that really holds up tbh.

Oh, due to GGG's way of addressing EXP penalties, up to 95 is "free sailing", as there isn't such a "schism" between character level versus content level.

The other fun fact is that the difference between the EXP provided by various tier 10 maps versus tier 11-15 isn't as noticeable as for a level higher than 95.

Not to mention GGG's obsession with "broken" ways of gaining EXP at a "faster rate" so only Poorjoy's/breaches/Beachhead etc. etc. feel like worthy of running if you're set to play a moderate amount of time and see the goddamn EXP progression bar move, while most of these remain locked to league content...

On Standard it should be about time that those that invested some time and effort in their characters see them advance from the traditional 90, a bit further, up to 95, before the grind becomes "underwhelming"...

So even if more people reach 95 versus just 90, GGG still insists on placing artificial walls regarding a smooth progression journey from 1 to 100...

And if this would have been fine a while ago, I dare remind you that they actually managed to finish the storyline, providing a 10 act more or less enticing "evolution", but that comes to a premature stop just before the finish line...

Things need to change, and we need those improvements "yesterday" (or should I better say since 3.0 was launched).

A grind-a-thon should have an achievable max level. Since it's those autistic traits that keep you pushing forward when the actual gameplay becomes boring. Quitting at lvl 95 isn't an option when you're on the spectrum, it's max level or nothing.

So rather than finally try and push for lvl 100 in the new league, it's going to be as boring as garbinger was. The stuff I want isn't achievable or takes too long to do. So why even bother? Same thing as nerfing acuity. Ggg literally shows it doesn't give half a flying fsck about achieving goals any more. Took me several years to get one and now it'll be poo.

So in short, you don't get rewarded for playing till lvl 100, lvl 100 takes too long for normal people, the same motivation that drives you going for lvl 100 is the same thing that will take away all motivation to even start if the grind is decadent.

Time to see if warframe is any good or not. Christ, why do they keep taking away everything that is fun. Again and again. I'm so glad I stopped supporting this game financially. Too much disappointment. They're still not doing anything about the new content running like complete ass due to a significant lack of optimisation.

Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
