Nerfing XP grinding again 95-100?
" LOL dude really? It was going all right til I see this.... I want leave this game now. What a completely disaster. You are nerfing xp grinding again from level 95-100 because of Zizaran, Steelmage and havoc? Come on dude, 95% of PoE players never reach level 100. Are you really balancing this game around 5 players that non-stop farming maps for 40h in a row? No study no work no sleep? wtf is wrong with you GGG... you're pushing level 100 grinding to the way where nobody else but 5 streamers can actually do it. This is by far the worst shit you could have done. Very disapointed here. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1931652 oh, yeah, it is so easy to get 100 right? 5 MONTHS of SSF HC harbinguer league and there is 23 players level 100. 23 players level 100 in 5 MONTHS. What a very easy thing to do, of course needed a nerf! Looks like a joke to me. ROFLMAO You know something is wrong with balancing team when they're balancing the game around steelmage and havoc. Sad. Nothing else to say here. My end, it justifies my means, All I ever do is delay, My every attempt to evade, The end of the road And my end.... And what about guys in SSF that don't farm in a 6 man party doing beachheads/poorjoy's asylum rotas? Hell what about ppl that don't play efficiently in groups and just do it for fun in SC league? Is everyone supposed to play like that?

I would prefer if instead of raising XP requirements to 100, GGG instead increased the level cap. Levels past 100 should not award any stats or skill points, but should be only there as racing achievements.
That way "casual" players can "max out" their character in a reasonable time, while "racers" still have something to compete over. |

" Well, you knew they were doomed the moment we saw that the balance team don't actually play their own game. They load up theoretical, edited characters in a sterile test server for individual encounters, and that's it. That's not playing the game, as they have zero context, zero experience of what the REST of playing is like around that, etc. If they actually HAD done that, we wouldn't be seeing these small single-digit numbers next to their names. It's like a programmer "testing" individual files of their program by seeing if they individually compile without error, without actually assembling the final executable and seeing how it handles in a real-world runtime environment. " This is what I've been saying for YEARS. In races/challenge leagues alone (not in Standard) the level cap should be effectively eliminated. Levels past 100 would award zero HP/MP/passives (or any other benefit to the player) but would keep requiring more EXP, and also see the over-leveled penalty for EXP gains increase. Hence, anything past 100 would be purely for the sake of the ladder. NO MATTER WHAT GGG DOES to nerf EXP gains, they are NOT going to stop their top streamers from finding ways to rush to the top with the help of their guildfull of lackeys playing support to them. The incentive is for them to do so. Nerfing gains merely hurts those who haven't gotten the resources (read: a guild or Twitch chat filled with generous fanboys) to trivialize these bumps. So, no matter what GGG does to nerf gains, if there's a level cap, there will ALWAYS be a stopping point. Eliminating the cap in that regard would transform the ladder from a "sprint to 100" to a real long-distance endurance test. In that situation, everyone wins: the top streamers get to keep pushing themselves, normal players with normal jobs get to still go to 100, with the ladder fully intact, and GGG manages to keep their best streamers at the league the ENTIRE time, rather than losing them after the first week. " Yes, they are. Is this news to you? |

" Well since the endgame achievements will be focused entirely on no-lifers it will be time to stop supporting them. "In this game you're just a cow being milked, not a human being entertained" - Kiss_Me_Quick

While I find it unfortunate that they are doing this, this shouldn't come as a surprise. They announced they were buffing maps considerably. From adding extra pack size to all map mods, to trying to make the less efficient map layouts competitive. That doesn't come for free, because it makes the race to 100 quicker and for some reason GGG finds that race important. Casuals need not apply for level 100 unless you play in standard, and standard gets far slower xp gain than the leagues due to league specials, typically.
What I'm not happy about is that they're only hitting the top bracket. They might as well hit as low as 68 or so, since that is where mapping levels start to take advantage of the "buffs" to mapping. Granted, I doubt many people start maps at 68, since it's usually more effective at that point to grind in other areas. |

"And what percentage of players reach level 95? I've seen about the same number of level 100s as I've seen level 95+. I think the number of players this affects is not very big. I think your 95% never reaching 100 is very optimistic. I'd guess the number is more like 99%.
