Sao Paulo Server latency

Fitzy, what happened to that other server we had when Incursion started? Is it gone? Is the current problem affecting that server too?

Wow, that would be such an overstatement. Also, completely not true.
Anyone who has played online games for over 10 years in Brazil have had major connection issues in almost everygame. Be it League of Legends, WoW, Diablo, you name it. All of them suffered from some kind of connection problem, from ddos attacks making servers shut down an entire weekend, to random bugs making games rollback 2 entire days.

It's no big secret that Brazil's routing is really poor.

I played DOTA2 for 6 years straight. Never had a single connectivity issue related to servers. In POE I'm lucky if I spend a week without lagging or losing maps due to faulty instances.
Do you GGG pay for this server in Sao Paulo correct?

For a game the size of PoE do not get a good support of a service that you pay is better to change because they spent 3 days and nothing was solved.

My suggestion is to look for another server because this one does not deserve the money they spend.

There are good servers here in Brazil, Chile or Argentina.

he already explained the difference between moba, fps and poe
Why diablo 3 doesn't have that issue?

Because, usually, no game allows a problem like this to drag on for more than a year. D3 had some problems back when the server opened, but looks like they fixed them. PoE is like this the first weeks of the league, then people start to quit playing and the server stabilizes, in incursion i started playing 3 weeks after it started because i had constant lag and instances crash. Looks like this league will be the same

Although I am also disappointed with the situation (not with GGG), comparing other games to POE is the same as comparing apples to oranges. There are so many factors in play, how many nodes you have between you and the destination, how the game was designed from a network perspective, etc. There are games that demand more from the network than others do, it can be as simple as that.

An extra gateway somewhere in South America is a good suggestion, that may help to balance the workload the Brazillian servers have, since it is well known that our infrastructure is overloaded (welcome to capitalism).

Finally, changing the service provider because they did not fix an issue in a few days is non-practical in many situations. There are contracts in place, most of them (if not all) have an SLA, if that has been met by the end of the month, there will be fines if GGG decides to cancel. It is not the same as if you rage quit on your ISP and change to another one. It takes time and a lot of effort.

I would love to have an stable server at the start of each league as much as the next guy, but seeing that GGG is doing what they can (I understand Fitzy is actively escalating to have it fixed), it eases my soul.
Another day without server, seen other ppl playing, trading, farming, and we just sitting still getting behind and no compensation whatsoever.

I wonder what would happen if Washington and Texas servers suddenly crash and how fast the technical team would respond.

What? Have you read what Fitzy has said? Compensation? Tell me please, you think ggg should fly to brazil and fix a problem that doesn't have to do with their company by themselves? Come on, dude, dont be this thick
zzzzzz
Sunday is here, and no Sao Paulo server yet. =(
I just wanna play, guys. :(

That's so sad...
My end, it justifies my means,
All I ever do is delay,
My every attempt to evade,
The end of the road
And my end....
