Couldn't you just as easily say:
tl;dr the labyrinth itself isn't fun, the ascendency points are. So keep the ascendency points, but remove the loot to be gotten elsewhere

That would only bother people that run Labyrinth for the loot rather for than the Ascendancy point. So it would seem like it wouldn't make people disliking the horrible labyrinth game play happy. It would only make the people willing to run through the labyrinth for the loot unhappy.

I like the labyrint, and would like to see some traps outside of it.

Traps mixed with monsters is still "kill-monsters-get-loot" game play and great PoE fun. When a game consists of screens full of nothing but traps then it is "platformer-jump-here-run-there" game play. The labyrinth game play is a very poor and inferior example of this "platformer-jump-here-hop-there" game play.

I guess all you see when you pay your way through labs all the time is labs without mobs, so I guess that makes sense.

For those of us that play the real game though, yes indeed, Lab is a great mix of monsters and traps.

There is a severe imbalance between monster "challenge" and trap challenge. Monsters are there to get flask charges and endurance charges for making traps easier. So I dont consider this a "great mix".

At equal level, the monsters there are as threatening as any other places of the game ( they are not moded, so not talking about maps obviously ).
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Xavathos appeared to be including me ("us ...") in an argument and I dont do lab at equal level. I have never done lab at equal level (unless twinked in which case monsters are also easy while traps are not) I think.

It's much more fun at level, doing it overlevelled is what turns it into a chore for me, give it a shot sometime if you're bored.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
