they should have the final Izaro spawn every 5 minutes while you do the lab and remove the boss/trap fights completely.
At least it would be strategic then.

There is a severe imbalance between monster "challenge" and trap challenge. Monsters are there to get flask charges and endurance charges for making traps easier.
At equal level, the monsters there are as threatening as any other places of the game ( they are not moded, so not talking about maps obviously ).
I don't think those monsters are really that threatening, slow zombies and weak skeletons. Perhaps new monster types there would make it more challenging.
There are many many more type of monsters in there ....
There are flicker striking dischargers as an example, something that could be dangerous.
Monsters are as threatening as other non moded areas, only the density is high( which can mean higher risk )

I see, so don't no at all what "stragetic" means heh.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jun 14, 2017, 1:37:42 PM

~ An average PoE player ~
I want to play some PoE. Looking through the ascendencies, I find the slayer: life leech effects are not removed on full life! I love that idea. Let's make a slayer. I'll try out the new SSF mode, so I can use currency during my walkthrough without feeling like I'm pouring money through the drain. I feel like I'm experienced enough for a succesful HC run: I had my freezing strongbox death, my "I like glass canons" death, my volatile death, my "I wonder if I can survive that attack" death, my "cool, a torment-possessed essence monster!" death. I learnt my lesson, those aren't happening anymore. So HC SSF it is. I try out the melee skills, until I find sunder, it's basically echoslam without the stun. I get capped resists, mass life, mass armor, mass block, trash mobs can't damage me, life never drops below 50%, I can facetank act bosses, my sunder basically oneshots whole screens. This is so good, I'm proud of my build. And then, I'm in the chamber of sins in mercyless, there's this trial, with circular saws that move back and forth. I know I often die to those moving traps in SC so it's risky, but it's not like I can gain levels and come back later or farm better gear. No matter how much I work on improving my char, the traps won't become any easier. It's not like I can skip the trial either, ascendencies are the very reason why I'm playing PoE right now over another game. So I go in, dodge the saws, take some damage, saws everywhere, nowhere safe, oh this place looks safe, LOL no it's not, spam life flasks, LOL they do nothing because I have 4k life, LOL 75%block 60%dr do nothing. Dead. Ok.
When I died to a freezing strongbox, I made a new char with scrolls of ID.
When I died to everything because I didn't have life nodes or life items, I made a new char with life nodes and life items.
When I died to Malachai, I made a new char that farmed a little before doing Malachai.
When I died because I tried to tank an attack, I made a new char and didn't try to tank that attack.
When I died to a torment-essence unique monster, I made a new char and didn't try to beat torment-essence unique monsters.
Now I die to a random saw that ignores armor, block, dodge, life, and that I can't skip.
But I hear 3.0 is coming, are they going to do something? "We're happy with the labyrinth and trials" Well. Actually, there's one way I can skip that saw.
Bye.

So you learned from each prior death how to avoid it but somehow you can't learn from a death in the lab?

It appears that lab has chased away another long time PoE player.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

Everything else was worth the bother. He did learn from the death. He learned that he's going to have to play the frogger/mario world mini game over and over and over and over and decided quitting is the better option.

You're doing the digging for me here... don't make this too easy now. ;)
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.
'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.

Pretty much this.
Didn't played during one year, came back very surprised with how the game improved.
When I died in uber lab trial I stoped the game waiting 3.0.

Add my name to this list. I joined Poe Jun 19, 2012 , and I would never have gone past the first hour of gameplay if they had just the Ascension lab back then instead of the first acts. No way. I would have walked away and deleted it without hesitation. I can't stand it.
If they won't remove the lab from the game then:
1) Add a second way to obtain ascension points in the game.
2) Maybe add 1 waypoint halfway through for non HC players.
3) Delete the traps systems. They are lame mario world crap.
