Haven't really ever commented on lab, but I hate it.
" No, man. It's ALL of it. I strongly dislike the entire thing as a package deal. The entire Super Frogger Marioworld |

That's what you got from what i said? It registered after the spike ended. I am done, i said what i wanted to say. The density is approaching dark matter proportions. I'm out.

You don't need to like the traps (I don't, particularly) or the Labyrinth. You don't need to do the enchantment grind or daily Lab race ladder.
But I don't understand why some people can't make the little effort to overcome the Lab, learn traps, defeat Izaro, grab Asc points... and get back to facerolling the rest of the game. Ascending is 100% a deterministic obstacle, that can be overcome with gameplay proficiency, instead of RNG luck. This is a positive change in PoE, in contrast to the crappy endgame, where you play easy content for 100s of hours and can only hope the game will throw you some T14 & T15, so you can sweat a little on boss fights... Ascending feels-good-man when you beat the Lab and get your points. It's one of the rare instances that PoE challenges you and gives you that sweet sense of accomplishment. The rest 99.99% of the game is just RNGJesus sermons about luck-gated hurrdcorr... --- I have nothing against alternative methods of ascending, that don't include traps. But it shouldn't be something that you can simply buy (Lab is already trivial in that regard), over-gear / over-level, or trivialize with partying... I'm just not sure what that could be, since PoE has static content difficulty. A race-like challenge, where you start without gear and solo only, is the only thing that comes to my mind... But I bet there would be just the same amount of hate for that (not necessarily from the same people who hate traps). When night falls

I can't understand why my wife hates olives.
She can't understand how I can eat handfuls of them. We don't accuse each other of being mentally handicapped in some way because of that difference. And I certainly don't tell her that eating hundreds of olives will magically make her love olives. |

" I tried discussing with you, it's indeed pointless. The fact that you seem to feel like you need to be able to facetank everything is laughable. " And the whole bad faith BS comes again. The ridiculously stupid "Super Frogger Marioworld" argument is a part of the lab that takes maybe 10%~15% of the run if you don't suck at it, in other terms it's nothing. The rest is tandard arpg PoE stuff, you just need to find your way through a dungeon, and you can easily find the global map on reddit everyday, hard life. " Irrelevant. The Lab is composed by very far by standard PoE arpg stuff. The only difference is that there a little portion of it with traps ( oh yes little ), and that you cannot easily chicken out and expect to keep your progression ( DC problems are a legitimate thing, much more than anything else in this thread ). So if you really don't like it, should we assume that you dislike arpg and then PoE in general ? No need to be masochist then. People are QQing that the lab is no fit in PoE, where MOST of it is standard arpg stuff. Pretending otherwise is being od bad faith. " Yeah basically. I would not like something with a lore that does not fit though, and I don't think that GGG would either. No lore = less immersion = no need imho. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jun 20, 2016, 5:07:43 AM

" Ok, but if those magic olives would give your wife a degree in astrophysics AND the ability to outrun Usain Bolt, would she still nag all day and not eat them? Or maybe just swallow the freaking pill, it tastes bad, we know, but since it will make you into Superman / Wonderwoman, it's ok... -_- When night falls

" She wouldn't need to nag all day and not eat them. I'd never force it upon her for any reason, because it would be improper, inhumane and asinine to do so. |

@Casual_Ascent,
Looking at your name and join date, I'd say you built your account around Lab hate. Like, specifically created for Lab hatin'... :) Not sure how seriously to take you. Maybe make your account public, so we can help with build suggestions? When night falls She cloaks the world In impenetrable darkness Last edited by morbo#1824 on Jun 20, 2016, 6:08:15 AM

My builds are fine.
As I've said many many times now, the difficulty of the lab isn't my issue with it. It's akin to pony-land in D3 to me. |

" Last try before we hit critical mass. There is no issue in having things you can't facetank in regular gameplay since they are on bosses you can outplay/ instakill and that have boss rooms that give you plenty of wiggle room where you just move a little and avoid the smash or the laser or whatever. BUT, if you put all of these smashes/lasers in a small room without any space to breath but a little platform here and there and you say "go through it or you'll just be stupid", then it becomes mario. Doing that to the hardcore players is not prudent or fair since you don't play mario with one life. Especially online. And that is only one issue that makes it feel like mario. There are plenty others, like character choices which should matter in an arpg. If you don't get this then you will never get it. I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league.
