Which wouldn't matter at all but for the fact that the Labyrinth is the rite of passage for choosing subclasses for evasion and dodge builds, etc., as well.

The Labyrinth has seen many improvements over the past years, but this remains a (conveniently ignored, by white knights) flaw.

Because of the Labyrinth's marriage to prestige class selection, either the Labyrinth is designed for ALL builds, or it is not.

PICK ONE.

Posting to note that labyrinth is still an irritating and boring experience. It's kind of like the Yugul fight, only longer, more tedious, and with really bad lore.

Incursion tech offers GGG a chance to let players turn ascension into a process that might actually make sense. A much more battle-heavy, ARPG-like method of ascending can replace the current 2D-arcade-game trap gameplay.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

i'd prefer that it wasn't a "one strike and ur out" thing. that's a hardcore game mechanic, not the usual challenge league mechanic.

if i wanted to play "one strike and ur out", i'd be in the hardcore league.

"one strike and ur out" is ok for a 5 minute zana quest, but uber lab goes on forever and key abilities hang off it.

it's kinda like we're told "pick the style of play you want" oh, but not really....we'll throw in this thing called labs to make it hardcore anyway.

i personally don't mind labs, though i am a touch frustrated coz i'm yet to complete uber lab after about 7 or 8 tries. but i do get what others on this thread have said about it being out of character with the rest of this game. it is definitely out of character with the rest of the game.

i think sometimes the devs want to "force" people into playing the game the way they want them to play it. and labs is an example of that.

abyss and breach are really good examples of fun, optional components of the game. the loot from these is mostly "meh", but the dynamics are fun. one might be lucky and score great loot, but usually not. i enjoy breaches and abysses but can always skip them if i want. i think that is what is missing with labs - core abilities hang off labs, so we feel compelled to endure for the sake of abilities rather than just enjoying. i think labs would be far more loved if it was optional.

Havent read the 700+ pages obviously but my thoughts:

I have never been carried, always solo'd or gone with whoever I was levling with at the time.

Ran my friend with 2k hp through all the labs, not really seeing what the big deal is here.
Traps are nothing if you open your eyes, it's not like they change, every trap has a 3s(?) repeating path. (Why do people think you need to rush through the rooms asap???)

Izaro can be a bit tricky in the last phase with some of the trap setups, but the rest is all predictable, he has what, 3 abilities?

Don't really understand what a change would accomplish here, its something different to do, and some people actually like it. In reality, it isn't all that hard. If I can do it with frostbolt totems which are beyond terrible for 'boss' damage then anyone can do it.

And for the handful of people that really, really can't do it, then carries are available within seconds.

and plague is curable today, but that doesnt mean its not a disease
i wish there was a way to enter uber lab without the map trials...i tried a couple of them but gave up half way after clicking a bunch of timed cranks and jumping around...ain't nobody got time for that,shame because i know i can kill uber izaro
