SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
" So, we can buy our ascendancy points without running the traps? How? "War's over, soldier. You just don't know it yet. Everybody lost."

" You can't buy ascendency points. You can buy Izaro killing, somebody can kill him for you, but when it comes to traps - sorry, you have to do them yourself. Also you can buy equipment with proper enchantments (like +3 molten strike balls on helmet or 1-160 light damage if you did't kill recently on boots). |

" Well, for most people the biggest problem with the lab is running the traps. Izaro [esecially if you disable buffs, and wait for proper layout] is not that hard. "War's over, soldier. You just don't know it yet. Everybody lost."

" I just answered your question :) When it comes to traps... well, all depends on price. Of course nobody will run them instead of you (unless you give somebody your credentials, which is not very smart move), but can give you some help, like providing “haste/determination” aura or opening some doors and so. In such meaning you can practically buy your ascendency points, as all you have to do in such case is survive traps with support of auras and DPS of player providing “lab service”. When in the previous league I carried out a friend through the maze, I used relatively slow, but very tanky character with high life regen, so I was able to stand on traps and navigate him like – hey, teleport right behind me and wait there, until I find next safe spot for you. In this way I was able to carry out lvl. 5x squishy ranger through every lab levels. Last edited by postrach_myszy#3054 on May 14, 2018, 5:31:32 AM

" If you read my post at all, you'd clearly know I was talking about enchants, not ascendancy points. Ascendancy points require you to run the Lab, you know, the Trial of Ascendancy. That's the point. You want that power? You do the trial. Your build can be the worst ever for Lab and you'll still be able to get it. Not easily, but then again, it was your choice to make playing that build. All these posts like yours just make me feel like you just want the game and all rewards to be handed to you. Why are you a gamer? Personally, I play games looking for challenges, looking for delayed rather than instant gratification. If the rewards come easier, it should be because I'm just that good at the game, not because the game is made that easy for me. But I'm also not a person who would ever play for example Skyrim with god mode and no clipping enabled, despite it being a single player game. Watching paint dry sounds endlessly more entertaining. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. |

The depth of my hate for lab is bottomless.

" An excellent point, and yet another in favor of limiting popular builds in this game to the smallest possible subset. Personally, I think build diversity is terrible for the game. I'd much rather feel compelled to play the game the way GGG wants me to. I hate it when devs encourage me to be creative, and express myself fully by playing builds which are off the beaten path. I'd much rather be shoehorned into the best possible builds for the meta du jour. If that's the Labyrinth, then a high-regen, high phys%res build is what I'll make. If it's a zoom-zoom-zoom timer-based League mechanic optimized to one or two pseudo-melee skills, then I'll go for that. I hate choices, hate options, hate creativity. I hate thinking for myself, and I love being told what to do. I hope GGG both keeps the Lab the way it is and continues to create new leagues which continue this trend. Because META is AWESOME. Making actual choices is for LOSERS. Wash your hands, Exile!

" ...you got all that from my one line? An impressive amount of sarcasm, to be sure. You got it wrong though. I said it's your choice to play a build that can't deal with the Lab very well, that doesn't mean it's good or bad that you have or made that choice. It just means you have to learn to live with the fact not all builds are good at everything. Lab builds will suck at mapping in general and won't have the DPS of bossing builds. They all have their own perks, and that's exactly my point. It's fine that way. If you feel, like so many have expressed, that the Lab is mandatory because you want those passives, then find a way to do it. It's like saying Starforge should drop from zombies on Twilight Strand because Shaper is too hard for your build. Boohoo, if you want the sword, you do the Shaper, or you buy it if you really can't. Yeah, it'll be expensive, but that's why it's a chase unique and why people farm Shaper. Same with Lab, buy your way through if you can't deal with it yourself. Buy the enchants or if it's really too much trouble. You can also choose to play a better Lab build or just don't bother playing at all. (which is fine, by the way, you can't please everyone, least of all those in this thread it seems...) There is so much entitlement here. I'm GLAD I get to work for my gear, I'd HATE it if everything was handed to me, I'd quit immediately. That's the part that threw me off D3, in fact. Free 4 sets for reaching level 70? Come on! Where's the challenge?? Where's the game play?? Why not just give me 2000 paragon levels too then? Finish the league for me while you're at it so I can just log in, get my rewards from mailbox and log out waiting for the next league. Instant gratification league. Ew. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. Last edited by Xavathos#5130 on May 18, 2018, 2:21:10 PM

The point is that Labyrinth is especially weak content compared to anything else in the story line content regarding easy versus hard builds. Meaning easy builds for labyrinth make it extremely trivial content. Compared to evasion based builds with VP being relatively hard content in Labyrinth. Sure there are some bosses that can be easier or harder for different builds but Labyrinth has a much more exaggerated prejudice in its treatment of different builds.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
