I agree. Why the make traps a core part of the longest part of the game, where there is no checkpoint puzzled me. I think the developers fail to realised many of us play ARPG so we don't have to deal with reflect & 'skill' base games like fps MP shooters, fighting games or dark soul style games, especially oldies like me in late 30s.

just tried to do cruel lab 3 times and died all 3 times to stupid traps. i hate this. i dont understand why traps need to be a part off the lab when its already a pain in the ass without the traps. yeah i could practise the traps but i dont want to practise something that i hate doing. it takes all the fun out of the game,there should be an option for people who want nothing to do with the lab and just want their points
I got my necro to 88 and Pier had good mobs so I basically had to do it every time I needed pets as a starter.

I was (finally) able to do my srs since I have the the gear now to be effective and I did lab 3 more times but fuck the 4th meh.

I was going to maybe make a third char but I really dislike all the trap bullshit plus my third I wanted to make a low life auramancer/support char but it's not very lab friendly and the idea of farming on my first necro to make a $$$ for character that would probably suck at lab is meh.

I did lab and traps enough I just am done for now. I might get necro to 90 she feels unfinished but I am burned for now.

If you think cruel is bad, wait til you try the uber ones. They add totems that either give DoT (if you use movement skill), or just stun & damage you, & you pray you don't gt hit by traps while stunned.

Also its very build dependence. Often players have to make changes to their build to do the traps. This is silly.


This is a 708 page thread, mostly abiout how shitty lab is. If GGG have not got the message, I don't know what can.

I know GGG developers spend a lot of time doing these traps & tehy are proud of it, but sometimes, less is more. More of things people do not enjoy is not a plus.

Why not make the trap simple non-lethal lever puzzles instead, provide some verity while not being frustrating.

Define often, never had to do it personally and never heard any of my buddies complain they had to do it, but I'm keeping an open mind. If you meant something like removing abyssus, that isn't much of a change because it has no core stats you have to make up for, you can just remove the thing and go bareheaded.

Though it might be a good thing, you know, we had atziri setups, dried lake setups, strand setups, shaper setups, what's wrong with having a lab setup? That's a thing in games like this, wouldn't support doing it for every other boss but sometimes it's fine.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I never tried uber lab and never will either. I never even completed a single uber lab trial. i tried one over a year ago when i first joined and knew right there and then that this isnt for me and i will never do it again and never did. Merc lab is as far as i will go. at least they should remove traps from normal/cruel lab, the izaro fight should be enough to earn your points,and izaro does less damage to me than traps do which is just stupid,i have no problem with izaro but insta die when a couple of traps hit me

* You want to get AP - prove your value by killing Izaro
* You want enchants/loot/XP - look for the fabled treasures of Chitus in the labirynth full of traps.

Simple and elegant. Here are even lore explanations. If somebody cares ofc, because GGG has shown big middle finger to all "lab can't be changed because of lore" arguments in 3.0
Small tip. use pantheon power which regenerates flask charges. It will allow you to do traps (of course it will be even more tedious and boring, but possible)

I agree the fights aren't the issue its the stupid traps and the time it takes to get to the last fight. Remove the lab bullshit and leave the 3 fights.
