However, my understanding is that PoE 3.0 has significantly reduced the traps in the first two labs. I will try PoE again to see if it is now better than Grim Dawn and Diablo 3 again after this partial fix to the problem. In PoE it is an important part when building a character. Do you not see a difference between one "trap-like" item met once in blue moon and whole platform subgame? I give you a hint here. In D3 you do not even break the flow of the game. If you meet them at all, of course. You may play a million rifts and you won't see any "trap". "War's over, soldier. You just don't know it yet. Traps here and there is just part of the scenery, areas to avoid when positioning in order to kill-monsters-get-loot game play. Screens full of traps and no monsters is NOT kill-monsters-get-loot game play no matter what deluded ramblings are being claimed. Screens full of traps and no monsters IS jump-here-run-there game play even when that content is in an arpg.

" That bolded part is just untrue, also even in the lab you rarely encounter traps, it's not even a whole subgame. If you want to just do all 4 labs and never go back you're in for about a whole 5 minutes of traps per character, and that's being generous, and not counting the reduced labs in 3.0. Well it's not like you need to do the lab at all, the game still isn't balanced around having an ascendancy class. So the metaphor is really
"five minutes of eating what you think is shit, but is actually just some other food, because you saw someone else do it and get the delicious meal." and that more accurate metaphor is how this whole game works, I eat the shit of not mapping because i want to do that.
